🐾✨ DOUBLE-COATED BREED POLICY ✨🐾

In the past, we have accepted doing all-over hair cuts (shaves or with clippers) of double- coated breeds. While we did this, we always educated that it is not in the dogs best interest to do haircuts like these on breeds with a double-coat. We have left it up to the owners after doing our best to educate.
Moving forward we have made the decision to no longer do shaves or clipper hair cuts on double-coated breeds. We will only be offering trims. This means a trim in the long areas; for example: around the feet, along the legs, bum, belly, chest, and tail. This is the proper hair cuts for breed with coats like this.

Shaving or cutting down double-coated breeds can and typically will lead to at minimum a damaged coat, issues regulating their temperature, and possible skin issues. These are just a few of the many negative things a cutting a double-coated breed short can do.

Here is a list of a few double-coated breeds for reference:
(not limited to only these breeds)
- golden retriever
- Labrador retriever
- Pomeranian
- Husky
- German shepherd
- Bernese mountain dog
- Australian shepherd

We are not judging, just trying to better educate about our furry friends that we care a lot about!

If you currently already have an appointment scheduled with us to get this done and have had this done previously, we will honor your current appointment. Moving forward we will no longer be able to schedule this service.
