So many of you have been asking what I’ve been working on these past few months… What’s the vision? What’s coming next? What will the new location become?
Here it is.
This is RIADEC — the Rhode Island Assistance Dogs Education Center — and this graphic shows the working model and pathways we are building right here in Rhode Island.
RIADEC is now filed as a 501(c)(3), and Pathway 1 (Teacher Dogs) is already underway. We’ve begun connecting with local school programs, ORS, Transition Academies, state agencies, nonprofits, and professional partners. We also have state vendor status in progress, allowing us to expand access and reach even more incredible students and professionals across the state.
Through CORE, we will be exploring meaningful partnerships with Veterans — focused on reducing isolation, su***de risk, and depression, while increasing independence, purpose, and quality of life through service dog teams.
And for the first time in Rhode Island, we will be developing a fully trained, professionally prepared assistance dog pathway — keeping dogs, training, and impact right here at home.
This is about dogs.
This is about students of all abilities.
This is about Veterans.
This is about ethical training, workforce development, and community-based solutions.
How can you help?
🐾 Volunteer or get involved
🐾 Sponsor a dog or a program
🐾 Donate or support a fundraiser
🐾 Contribute items from our wish list
Every piece of support matters.
So let’s go, Rhode Island.
Let’s make a difference for dogs, our students, our most fragile populations, and our workforce.
Let’s put RI on the map — for the first time — with fully trained, ready-to-serve assistance dogs built in RI, for RI.
