Temporary Weekend Hours Update 🐾

We wanted to let you know about a temporary change to our weekend urgent care hours this weekend due to staffing.

📅 Sunday, September 6: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM

We plan to resume our normal urgent care hours the following weekend, with hours of 8:00 AM–8:00 PM Saturday and Sunday.

If your pet is experiencing a true emergency or requires urgent care outside of our hours, please contact or visit BluePearl at 515-727-4872 or VEG at 515-212-3822 for emergency veterinary care.

Just a reminder of our holiday weekend hours:

📅 Friday, September 4: Open during our normal business hours
🐾 Saturday, September 5: Open for Urgent Care, 8 AM–8 PM
🐾 Sunday, September 6: Open for Urgent Care, 8 AM–6 PM
❤️ Monday, September 7: CLOSED for Labor Day

We’ll be back to caring for your pets during our normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8.

🎉The Spotlight is on Aki! 🎉

Aki has been a part of the Westfield family for 2 years. As an elderly lady with a plethora of chronic conditions, she has become a very well-known patient here. 💖 Aki visits Dr. Lopez for regular acupuncture to help with arthritis and ataxia (an unsteady or wobbly walk).
📍Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine where very small needles are inserted into specific points along the body that promote blood flow, stimulate natural anti-inflammatory and pain relief chemicals, and relax muscles. 📍 It can be used for things like pain, neurological conditions, anxiety, and so much more. Dr. Lopez is one of the very few doctors in Iowa who is certified in acupuncture, and we are very proud to have her on our team! 😁

🎉The Spotlight is on Toodles! 🎉

Toodles was referred to our Urgent Care clinic after being diagnosed with a foreign body obstruction. This is when an animal eats something that is not food and it gets lodged in their GI tract, making it so that nothing can move through.🙀 The treatment for this is emergency surgery to remove the foreign material. Toodles family came right away and we went straight into surgery.

Thanks to her family's quick action and our amazing Dr. Paulin, the surgery was successful and she is doing great at home (although she’s not happy about having to wear a cone).😹 We loved working with this sweet girl and are here every Saturday and Sunday from 8am-8pm to help pets experiencing emergencies just like Toodles.
