Thinking about the STgenetics family. The work we do is hard on the good days, the people we work with are salt of the earth. Paul was integral to your program and he will be missed.

It is with our deepest regrets that today we remember and honor the life of Paul Detwiler — a respected leader, mentor, colleague, and friend whose impact reached far beyond our organization.

As General Manager of the Ohio Heifer Center for over 15 years, Paul was the driving force, visionary, and steadfast hand behind the development and growth of one of the dairy industry’s leading operations. Through his undeniable passion and dedication, he helped build a program that has become a shining example of innovation, technology, and genetic advancement within the dairy industry.

But above all, Paul will be remembered for the way he led: with humility, authenticity, kindness, and genuine care for others. He was deeply respected by teammates, customers, and partners across the industry, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire all of us.

We extend our sincere condolences to Paul’s family, Shelly, Jake, Luke, and his grandkids, his friends, coworkers, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on through the countless people he mentored, the friendships he built, and the lasting impact he made on the dairy industry he loved so deeply.

My name is Dr. Tera and I am a veterinarian in SWKS. I grew up here and I'm raising my family here and I mainly get to work on cows, so that's amazing and checks all of my boxes!

A couple of years ago I joined a partnership that has reinvigorated my little part of the veterinary world and we have some big dreams!

Partnership, to me, looks like supporting fellow veterinarians, celebrating their successes, and standing beside them through the challenges. It’s about recognizing that great veterinarians don’t just care for animals... we invest in our communities, build relationships, and show up when it matters most.

I’m proud to be part of a group that values collaboration over competition and understands that we truly are better together. I might be a single practitioner in a remote part of the world, but I’m a member of something bigger than myself, something that’s making a lasting impact on the people, animals, and communities we serve.
