Case request!

It’s that time again, Dr. Ashley is starting a new module for her Masters in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine for fall and needs to do a case study. This module encompasses musculoskeletal/ sports medicine, geriatric care, renal/urinary disease and reproduction. We need to schedule three monthly visits through the fall (September/ October / November) and we offer a fairly good discount on acupuncture as well as herbal therapy if enrolled. We are thrilled to share that Dr. Matt has officially passed his membership examinations in Equine Dentistry with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS)! After 9 months of studying, two written exams and an oral examination later, he is now a recognised advanced practitioner in his field, with the post-nominals MANZCVS (Equine Dentistry) to show for it.

This credential reflects a serious commitment to postgraduate knowledge and the field of equine dentistry. Dr. Matt would like to acknowledge he could not have done it without the incredible mentors and resources that pushed his clinical thinking to the next level. Here’s to continuing to grow and serve horses and their owners at the highest standard.

Requirements for the position are strong organizational skills, computer literacy, knowledge of the horse industry, and if you are comfortable with local geography that is a plus.

We are equally sad to announce Hana's last week with TPE, and excited for her to announce her next big adventure. Hana has taken a position as assistant coach at a very prestigious collegiate equestrian program with the Savannah College of Art and Design, SCAD - (https://www.scad.edu/locations/savannah). While it will be impossible to replace Hana in the office, we know she will do amazing things in this new position, and we are so thrilled for her to be accepting this opportunity.

Hana's last official day is this Friday, but we're also having a going-away party the morning of Monday, July 6th, so if you're in the area and want to swing by to give her your well wishes, feel free!

Leave some good vibes here for Hana as we send her on her way!

We had a great time practicing some essential skills last week at our annual tech day, this time with friends! ❤️Thanks JP Hoofworks for the excellent education on venograms!

Last week, Dr. Erin and Eliza joined an educational session with equine podiatrist Jaret Pullen, DVM, of JP Hoofworks, in collaboration with our friends at Twin Pines Equine Veterinary Services, LLP.

A key focus of the day was practicing venograms—a diagnostic tool used to evaluate blood flow within the hoof. Venograms help pinpoint areas where circulation may be compromised, making them especially valuable in cases of laminitis. This insight allows for more informed decisions when it comes to shoeing and long-term management of this common chronic condition.
