This sweet girl is about 14 weeks old. 15-20 lbs. Crate trained! Sweet girl who needs to not be at the shelter. She is currently staying with the Animal Control Officer so she doesn't have to go there. We'd love to take her in, but I need a foster home to do that! We provide everything you need. Must live in Amelia, Powhatan, Chesterfield or Midlothian areas for vet appts! MESSAGE ME IF INTERESTED!

Thank you to everyone who donated for Ruthie's care! ❤️❤️ We are still going back every 3 days for bandage changes. Once the antibiotics for her foot has ended, we will start the Doxycycline for heartworm. She still has a long road ahead.. I appreciate our Morgan’s Mutts Family for always helping when needed. You fill my heart..❤️❤️

❤️ FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME NEEDED!! ❤️

So we found out a little more about Ruthie's broken toes today. They had to sedate her for xrays and align the bone as it was not healing straight. (These are my words!) It is definitely painful.. a new wrap was put on with a hard cast under the foot. She has to go back in 2 weeks to check it, probably re-wrap it and repeat in 2 more weeks. I will be recovering from my surgery by then so I need to find a place for her to continue her recovery! This must happen by 9/10/26! If you are interested in fostering this very sweet girl, please message me! She is an absolute doll. Great with other dogs. Cuddly and such a kind soul..She doesn't chew or get into anything. Just wants to lay by your side. 20 lbs!

Ruthie Update!! 🥰🐕❤️

So this sweet girl is a hot mess! 😂 So let's start with her foot. 2 broken toes on each side of her foot. Infection causing the swelling, which is causing her toes to spread wide. We don't want bones to heal that way, so new antibiotic, pain meds and wrapped the foot. She needs to go back about every 3-4 days to check the swelling, the Infection and re-wrap the foot tighter as the swelling subsides... so, several visits! Let's move on to her ears.. double ear infection! Cleaned and packed with medicine. Next is her poop...Hook & Whip worms! but we just finished a 3 day course of panacur so will recheck in 2 weeks. And lastly... Heartworm positive...😔 Negative for tick diseases though! 🤷‍♀️ Unfortunately with everything going on with her foot, Doxycycline to start the Heartworm treatment is on hold while we get her foot healed, as well as her spay. Obviously, her vet bills will be more than our $350 adoption fee. So we are asking for donations for her care. You can pay River Run directly at 804-794-4105. They are open evenings and weekends!!.. I'm having total hip replacement on 9/11/26. So I do need her settled in somewhere before then. New girl! Meet Ruthie! She is 19 lbs of ears! 😂 She is very timid, but very sweet.. she has a couple of broken toes on her back left foot. She is fascinated by the TV! She is settling in with me for now. Vet appt on Friday to get a second opinion by our vets at River Run Animal Hospital . She is very thin and several scrapes & scratches everywhere. The shelter has her on antibiotics and pain meds. She's about 1.5- 2 yrs old. More info and updates after her vet visit!
