Steve's update!
After it came to light that some of the batches of Quest cat food were not holding the levels of thiamine expected, Steve's decided to do a deeper nutritional analysis of all their formulas. They opted to tweak them by adding in, among other things, nutritional yeast (in line with their food based nutrients) however, they discovered that in the short term they could not secure sufficient volume of a quality that satisfied them, so instead of being out of all food for 8-12 weeks due to that delay they have opted to add a pre-mix vitamin pack that does contain some synthetics to allow them to continue production. That being said, this is entirely a temporary measure until they can secure the product they need to replace the vitamin pack. Each product produced with the vitamin pack with have a sticker on the bag to show the ingredient list of exactly what is in there, and again will be replaced with a new sticker when that formulation if finalized and replaced with new nutraceuticals While the timing is unfortunate for us as a retailer and you as a customer this transparency is what made the decision to onboard Steve's to B2G an easy one. The new formulas are shipping this week and we should be able to secure patties very soon. Nuggets will follow in a couple of weeks once the patties have shipped nationwide. Please be aware that Steve's has discovered that some batches of their chicken Quest did not get adequate Thiamine during production. While we did not have any of the recalled SKU's, out of an abundance of caution Steve's is opting to issue a stop sale of the Quest line until they are able to release their new formulated diet with a more stable form of thiamine included (non active yeast) which will likely be a little later in March.

IF you have any Quest in your freezer you are perfectly safe to continue feeding it, but we at B2G are recommending you add a tiny pinch of nutritional yeast to cover any possible shortage. Excess thiamine will not be an issue in such tiny doses should your food already have adequate thiamine. If you prefer you can return the product (open or not) to us for a full refund.

If you don't already have nutritional yeast at home, it is easily available in most grocery stores "natural" sections. Alternately if you have green peas they are also high in thiamine but you would need to blend them to make them bio available to your kitties. We may think we are being kind giving our pets a little treat but we can be doing more harm than good. We should also be mindful when bringing plants into our homes and gardens as they can be toxic to our furry friends. Always check if the food you are giving them is suitable. We have a variety of raw & freeze dried meals and treats to keep your dog & cat healthy and happy.
