Alumni Update:
Anyone who follows our socials might remember our friend Leonidas.
Leo was one of many animals that came to us needing a last chance.
He was scared
He was reactive
He was frightening to deal with and we don't frighten easily.
No one knew exactly what he had endured, only that he had learned to be afraid of the world around him.
Every person.
Every treat.
Every outstretched hand.
This is Jersey City, we love a challenge almost as much as we love a second chance. So we kept working and earning his trust.
Until we got it.
As he walked out the shelter doors with his new family, head held high and tail wagging proudly, everyone who had helped him knew they had witnessed something extraordinary: the power of compassion to transform fear into hope and give a deserving dog a second chance at life.
Here is our guy, living his best doggie life.
