✨ Maribelle Update! ✨

It’s officially been one week since her appointment, and tomorrow is her last day of eye drops!

Her right eye has cleared up and is no longer foggy, but there is still a tiny dot where the piece of grass injured her eye. We knew there was a possibility it could leave a small scar, so we’ll just keep watching it.

Her eyes are still a little red, but we’re hoping by tomorrow evening they’ll be fully recovered. We’re just so thankful our girl is feeling like herself again! 🤎🐾

Here’s your reminder that I’m a real person. These are real animals. And this is real life. My life. ❤️

I share a lot on this page the good, the bad, the scary, the exciting, and sometimes even the ugly. Why? Because I never want anyone following us to believe that life with dogs, breeding, or raising puppies is picture-perfect 100% of the time.

Dogs get sick. Dogs have accidents. Things happen that we don’t expect. There are vet visits, sleepless nights, stressful moments, and situations that can make your heart drop.

And if you ever see a breeder make it seem like absolutely nothing goes wrong… I hate to break it to you, but that simply isn’t real life.

I choose to share these moments because I want our past, present, and future families to see exactly how much we pour into these babies. I want Bayou Belle Kennels to be known for honesty, transparency, passion, and most importantly, how deeply we love and care for every dog that comes through our home.

So yes, I’ll keep posting it all.

Because this is real. I’m real. These babies are real. And life doesn’t always play fair, but they will always have us right beside them through every bit of it. 💓

“How’s retirement treating Rainie?” 🐾💕

Oh, you know… absolutely terrible. 🤣

No puppies to raise, no babies climbing all over her, no mom duties whatsoever… just naps, snacks, belly rubs, and being spoiled rotten. 🥹😂

Well… she does still have to deal with her human baby sister, but she doesn’t seem to mind one bit, as you can tell. 🤣💕 Those two stay attached!

Safe to say, our retired mama has adjusted to the couch princess life just fine. 👑🐶

She gave us the sweetest babies, did her mama duties like a champ, and now it’s officially Rainie’s world, we just live in it. ❤️

BIG SIGH OF RELIEF!!!!!!! 😭❤️

We finally have some answers on our Maribelle girl! Doc said she had gotten some dirt/debris in her eyes from being around the lawnmower, and a tiny piece of grass actually scratched her eye. There’s a small little spot where it basically “stabbed” the surface of her eye, which is what caused that cloudy appearance.

We came home with eye drops that she’ll get for the next week. Doc said if the white spot doesn’t clear up within that time, it may end up being a small scar, but thankfully, nothing more serious is going on. 🙌🏻

I’m just SO glad we got some answers and that our girl can finally get some much-needed relief. She did amazing at the vet, too! She was a little nervous at first, but after a while she settled in and got comfortable. 🥹

Ohhhh how these girls love to keep me nervous!!! 😂 But goodness, I love them so much. ❤️

Our Maribelle girl sure knows how to get us worked up. 🥺

Saturday morning she woke up with a little bit of crust stuck to the hair around her eyelashes. At first, I honestly thought it was just little kibble crumbs stuck in her hair. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I cleaned everything really well and didn’t think too much of it because her eyes themselves seemed fine, and as far as we could tell, they weren’t bothering her at all.

Then by Sunday evening, both eyes were bloodshot red and her right eye started looking a little foggy… so needless to say, she earned a vet visit and this mama has been anxious ever since.

We’re so thankful our vet was able to squeeze her in today with how busy their schedule is. Her appointment isn’t until later this afternoon, so now we’re just anxiously waiting to hopefully get some answers.

The day before all of this, she was outside chasing my husband around while he was cutting grass because this girl LOVES to run. 🤣 So we’re wondering if maybe she got something in her eye or irritated it somehow while she was outside.

Send our sweet Maribelle some good vibes today! We’ll update everyone once we know more. 🤎❤️❤️

Our sweet Daisy Mae is settling right in and showing off more of that big personality every day! 💕

She’s turning into quite the little character, spunky, expressive, and definitely not afraid to let everyone know what she thinks. 😂 We love seeing her confidence grow and hearing how much joy she’s bringing to her family.

Looks like Miss Daisy is going to keep everyone laughing and on their toes! ❤️

🐾 PUPDATE: BELLE — THE BAYOU TRIO LITTER 🐾

We got the sweetest little update on our girl Belle! 🤎

Her family says she is doing so great and is truly one of the sweetest dogs they’ve ever had. 🥹 She’s doing amazing with her potty training, and apparently Miss Belle has been busy learning all kinds of tricks too! 😂👏🏼

Her family said they’re going to send us a video showing off everything she can do, and you already know we can’t wait to see it!

Nothing makes us happier than watching our Bayou Belle babies grow up so loved, spoiled, and thriving in their forever homes. 🐶🤎
