Position Overview:
As our Receptionist, you are the first impression of our salon. You will handle client check-ins, manage grooming schedules, answer phone calls, and ensure our pet parents feel confident leaving their beloved dogs in our care. The ideal candidate is highly organized, excellent at multitasking, and completely comfortable around dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments.

Key Responsibilities:
*Client & Pet Relations: Enthusiastically greet human clients and their dogs upon arrival; efficiently handle check-ins and check-outs.

Scheduling & Booking:
*Manage our grooming appointment book, schedule strategically to maximize groomers' time, handle confirmations/cancellations, and verify vaccine information.

Communication:
*Answer phone calls, respond to voicemails, and reply to client emails promptly and professionally.

Payments:
*Process cash, check, and card transactions accurately using our Point of Sale (POS) system.

Salon Upkeep:
*Maintain a clean, organized, and odor-free front lobby. Vacuum floors, clean holding areas, and assist with laundry duties.

Safety Coordination:
*Verify that client pets' vaccination records are current and properly updated within our system.

Qualifications & Skills
*Previous experience as a receptionist, front desk agent, or customer service representative (experience in a veterinary clinic, pet boarding facility, or grooming salon is a major plus!).

*A genuine love for dogs and comfort handling them if necessary.

*Excellent communication skills with a friendly, patient demeanor—even during peak hours.

*High organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.

*Reliability, punctuality, and a strong team-player attitude.

• Provide exemplary cosmetic care for pets, being gentle and patient with anxious and difficult animals
• Protect the best interests of our customers and their pets, notifying owners of any concerns, including skin abnormalities, ear infections, ticks, and fleas
• Help our organization continue to grow by forming fruitful relationships with customers that result in repeat visits

Responsibilities
• Clean and freshen pet hair by washing, shampooing, and conditioning it
• Shave, trim, and style pet hair according to the owner’s preferences
• Maintain overall pet hygiene by clipping nails, brushing teeth, and cleaning ears
• Maintain a clean workstation by sanitizing and sweeping before the arrival of every client and at the end of every workday
• Advise owners on at-home care tips and best practices for their pets

Required skills and qualifications
• Experience in pet grooming (4 years ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED)
• Experience in customer service
• Experience with animals in a professional capacity
• Demonstrated passion for animals
• Ability to work comfortably with animals, including anxious ones
• Ability to stand for at least two hours and lift animals weighing over 50 pounds
• Willingness to learn new skills and techniques
• Well-developed verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail

🛑 ATTENTION ALL ADRIANA CLIENTS 🛑

Dear Valued Clients,
We would like to inform you that, effective July 10th, Adriana will no longer be grooming at The Paw Spa. Adriana has made the personal decision to step away from grooming in order to devote her time and attention to being a full-time mother to her daughter, Amora.
We understand that many of you and your pets have built a special bond with Adriana over the years, and we know this news may be disappointing. While we will certainly miss her, we fully support her decision to prioritize her family during this important time in her life.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Unfortunately, our remaining groomers are currently booked to capacity and are unable to accept additional clients at this time. As a result, Adriana’s clients will need to make arrangements with another grooming salon for future appointments after July 10th.
We are truly grateful for the trust and loyalty you have shown both Adriana and The Paw Spa. Thank you for your understanding, kindness, and support as Adriana begins this new chapter with her family. Dear Clients,
First and foremost, we would like to thank each of you for trusting us with your beloved pets. We truly appreciate your business, your loyalty, and the relationships we have built with both you and your furry family members over the years.
As our salon continues to stay very busy, we are asking for your cooperation regarding pick-up times. If you request a “call when ready” at drop-off, we kindly ask that you please wait until you receive that call before coming to pick up your pet or calling to check on their status.
While our posted business hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, grooming completion times vary each day depending on the number of pets scheduled and the services being performed. It is not uncommon for our groomers to remain here well beyond closing time to ensure every pet receives the quality care and attention they deserve.
When clients arrive before their pet is ready or call repeatedly for updates, it requires our groomers to stop working to answer phones, check schedules, and respond to inquiries. This not only slows down the grooming process for all pets, but it can also create unnecessary stress for both the dogs and our staff. Many dogs become excited or anxious when they see their owners arrive, making it more difficult and sometimes less safe to complete their groom.
Please know that your pet’s comfort and well-being are always a priority. Throughout the day, all dogs are taken outside for potty breaks and fresh water is always available. If your pet requires a meal during their stay, we are happy to provide it as long as food is supplied by the owner.
If you need your pet ready by a specific time, please let us know at drop-off. We will always do our best to accommodate requested pick-up times; however, these requests are handled on a first-requested basis and cannot always be guaranteed. Additionally, if a pet is dropped off later than their scheduled appointment time, their completion time may also be later than originally anticipated.
We understand that being away from your pet can be difficult, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. By allowing us to contact you when your pet is truly ready, you help us provide a calmer environment, maintain our workflow, and ensure that every pet receives the attention and care they deserve. As groomers, we all have families we like to get back home to also so it is not our intention to keep your fur-baby any longer then necessary.
