Flat Springs Horse Farm

Today was the perfect day to both work with horses and decorate for fall at Flat Springs Horse Farm in Jefferson, NC. The air was cool and crisp and the horses felt good and as usual Willow, the four month old filly, had the run of the place. Fall is here and in a few weeks the leaves will be brightly colored.

Today is such a beautiful day here at Flat Springs Horse Farm in Jefferson, NC and we decided to move Willow and her mother Scarlet to a larger pasture. It’s so important for Willow to have plenty of room to run and play so she may develop properly. Willow is almost four months old and is out of the Metallic Cat line on the top and the Smart Little Lena line on the bottom.

These four yearling c**ts are really growing here at Flat Springs Horse Farm in Jefferson, NC. They are as gentle as can be and of course they love meal time. Look for the blue roan, the bay and the Grulla to be advertised for sale soon along with a leopard Appaloosa c**t.

All of my life I have loved old barns and often played in them when I was a child growing up. I was so glad this old barn was part of the farm when I bought it. We finally got around to repairing and painting the outside so hopefully it will last for many years to come. Thank you to Magos Contractors of Jefferson, NC for completing the repairs and painting.

The four yearling c**ts could not have lined up more perfectly at the gate yesterday. These guys are really growing and are going to make wonderful horses if they continue to be as gentle as they are now. They love attention! The weather was wonderful here in the mountains of North Carolina with the temperature in the upper 70’s. Fall with the cooler temperature’s and the wonderful color it brings with the leaves changing is just around the corner.

This is the scene every morning at the yearling pastures here at FLAT SPRINGS HORSE FARM. They are impatiently waiting at the gate for the buffet breakfast, never say thank you and then expect daily maid service. At dinner it will be same scene only they expect turndown service after eating. I should just place a Hampton Inn sign above the gate. The ironic part is I think I’m the one training them.

FLAT SPRINGS HORSE FARM in Jefferson, NC wants to introduce two new yearlings to the farm to go along with the others we already have. The handsome blue roan c**t is named HOBO (Metallic Cat on top and Smart Little Lena on the bottom) and the gorgeous brown leopard Appaloosa c**t is still waiting on a name which we will decide on shortly. Like with all of the rest of the yearlings here at the farm we can’t wait to see how these two develop and grow. We have nine yearlings that will be ready to start in the spring and we will have five weanlings ready by late October. All have really good papers. Follow FLAT SPRINGS HORSE FARM on Facebook to keep up with the progress of our horses.

This little 2 1/2 month old filly at FLAT SPRINGS HORSE FARM, named Willow wasn’t exactly sure what was going on today. She had never seen someone sitting on her mother’s back before. Willow hung right in there though and followed every step of the way as I rode her mother Scarlet. We are still not sure what color Willow is going to be but we should know in a few weeks as she sheds her baby hair. We all think she may be a bay.
