Happy Vet Tech Week to our amazing team of CVT’s and assistants!! And a special shout out to Susie Schuld CVT for her recognition from Animal Health International and Parnell Livestock.
It’s and we are excited to announce the first winner of our Vet Tech Appreciation contest, presented in partnership with Parnell Livestock. Congratulations to Certified Vet Tech Susie Schuld of the Jefferson Veterinary Clinic, S.C.
Susie has been with Jefferson Veterinary Clinic, SC since 1999, first starting at the clinic as a vet tech intern and then joining the clinic team working with both small and large animals. Her passion was working with the large animals and she quickly began working more exclusively out in the country.
Susie was nominated by Dr. Robert Farruggio, who said, “Susie has been working with me for many years on sick animal calls and with herd checks. She does the paperwork and computer work for the herd health visits, as well as any treatments and vaccinations that need to be done. Oftentimes we are working alone without farm staff and our clients really appreciate this because they can do other things, which makes their day more efficient.” Susie has developed an ability to anticipate what will be needed based on any given situation, and without asking for something, she will already have it. Her ability to understand the moment and anticipate the next is a key trait that allows her to work together as a team player.
In addition to her passion for caring for large animals, Susie has also taken the lead in ordering large animal supplies and medications. She uses the PICS system to assist with inventory management and has developed an internal tracking sheet to allow for a better way of documenting and charging large animal meds and supplies. Susie is a very dedicated, long-term employee, who somehow also finds time away from work to raise her four kids. Together, they enjoy paddleboarding, biking, board games, and showing poultry and other animals, along with many different sporting events and activities. She is very involved in supporting the community. She has served as a Girl Scout troop co-leader, 4-H leader and Jefferson County 4-H Leaders board president, and Community Advisory Committee member for the school district of Jefferson, and has participated in many fundraising events for various causes.
With her contributions to the Jefferson Veterinary Clinic, SC and her family, as well as the community, we are very thankful that Susie is a member of the team.
