Crown Fire Border Collies

Crown Fire Border Collies . Our kennel is named in honor of my grandfather, Don Young, and his prized Appaloosa D's Hands Up "King D".

They competed nationwide and earned invitations to the National Appaloosa Horse Show three different years. Their drive, passion, and ambition was an inspiration to me and is what drives me in dog shows and events. I hope to one day have as many ribbons, trophies, and medals as they did and eventually work to improve the Border Collie and German Shorthaired Pointer breeds like my grandfather did with Appaloosas.

After two back-to-back weeks with a lot of traveling, we decided to take a break and do something fun - dock jumping! We haven't had a lot of time to focus on it, especially in recent years, but after seeing how much Revy loves it, we will be making more trips to the dock this spring and summer. Seeing her so excited really made our day!

❤️‍🔥 Revy really impressed us! After two years away from the dock, she came off the dock and broke her personal best every time! She was also able to be moved to running the full dock as her confidence built throughout the day. We couldn't be more proud of her! Her ability to quickly catch onto different "games"and their different environments, even after a couple years of not playing them, never ceases to amaze us.

The SEAEDA show in Jefferson was fun-filled, as always! We got to enjoy seeing so many friends and watch their dogs get some really awesome achievements! I couldn't have asked for a better weekend with everyone! Congratulations to all of you on your achievements, and we can not wait to see you all at the next one ❤️

❤️‍🔥 Revy had a great weekend in rally, earning her URO3 and starting on her URX and UROC. We also got to try obedience for the first time for both of us, earning a leg towards her PN title. I couldn't be more proud of my girl and her achievements!

This Valentine's Day Revy & I traveled to Autaugaville, Alabama, for the River Region Kennel Club's show & performance event. Revy did amazing in conformation, rally, and precision coursing (Dash). It's been a long while since Revy has gotten to chase the "bunny", and I was super proud to see she remembered the game. Revy also did fabulous at her first time being an honor dog for rally! I am so thankful for and to this extraordinary girl ❤️

🏆2025 Achievements🏆

2025 started off a little bumpy, with a big win and an emergency spay two weeks apart, but with the love and support of both old and new friends we pushed through. We are so glad we did because 2025 turned into our most successful year to date - some of it still feels like a dream! We learned a new sport that has brought a new light to our lives, gained confidence, and made a little history that even we never could have dreamed of. Thank you to everyone who has shown us support and congratulations on all of your achievements! We cannot wait to see what 2026 holds for us.

❤️‍🔥 Revy
Revy shined in the ring this year, earning her ALCH, MALBIS, and MALRBIS - making her the 1st red tri Border Collie to win ALBIS in UKC history! She also got to take a lap around the Best of the Best ring with many other wonderful examples of each represented breed. She also began her rally journey, which has quickly turned into one of her (and our) favorite sports, where she earned her UR01 & URO2, and was ranked 27th on UKC's Rally All-Stars list! She finished the year with five perfect 100s and a few 99-94 scores as we figured the sport out. Proud is a serious understatement!

For 2026, we plan on continuing our rally adventure as we hope to earn Revy's URX and UROC, playing more disc, getting more dock and herding time, trying a few new sports, and having many fun non-sport adventures with friends!

🎉🎈Happy 6th birthday, Revy & her siblings!! 🎈🎉

The past 6 years have been such a ride! From the moment I brought you home, we jumped straight into the chaos of Covid and lockdowns. You were the best little lockdown partner I could’ve asked for, and we made the most of it, earning virtual titles alongside so many others doing the same.

Once things opened back up, you hit the ring and were so patient with a very green handler (peep the third photo down on the left 🫣). Conformation, chasing "bunnies", disc, herding, rally, or any random adventure - especially if it involves a pup-cup - you're game! Along the way, you’ve helped me meet incredible friends, made some history, and taught me more than I ever imagined.

Thank you, Revy - the little flame that kept me burning during some of the darkest times. Happy birthday, sweet girl 🎂🥳❤️‍🔥

✨ Exciting News ✨

After much thought and reflection, we’ve decided it’s time for a new chapter. King D’s Kennels will now be known as Crown Fire Border Collies.

When we first started out, our vision looked a little different. But as our journey has unfolded, so has our focus. Since bringing Revy into our lives and being welcomed so warmly into the incredible Border Collie community, we’ve found where our true passion lies – with this remarkable breed.

While we wanted our new name to reflect this shift, we also wanted to honor where our story began. King D was the name of my late grandfather’s beloved horse, and his memory is what inspired us to begin our journey into dog sports in the first place. And of course, Revy – our spark, our “little fire” – is forever a part of the story as well. Together, they inspired Crown Fire Border Collies.

We’re so thankful for all of the love and support we’ve received so far, and we hope you’ll continue to follow along with us as we grow in this exciting new direction. Here’s to the next chapter! 🐾❤️
