J & J had the honor of hosting breakfast for the Jackson County VIP Ag Tour! We enjoyed sharing our story and a small tour of the farm. We were thankful for the attendance from Dawn Maddox - Mayor of Jefferson, Holt Persinger - State Representative,
Ward Black - Jackson County Farm Bureau Legislative Chair, Katie Alt - Georgia Farm Bureau 2nd District Federation Manager, Greg Pittman - UGA Extension Agent for Jackson County, and others.

Mare pasture board spot opening available on our 62 acre Centennial Family Farm in Jefferson, GA. State licensed stable just a few minutes from Jefferson High School. Approx. 30 minutes from Athens, GA.

We are a small private family owned operation. Jessi, our barn manager, is the 6th generation of her family to live and work on the same land. Jessi currently rides on an equestrian drill team with her 14yo gelding, Ralph, whom she’s had since he was a 6mo c**t. She is also active in the Jackson County Young Farmers and Ranchers, Jackson County Cattlemen’s organization, as well as being the women’s chair for the Jackson County Farm Bureau. The farm has a beef cow-calf operation and also produces our own horse quality Bermuda hay that we include in board and sell outright. We pride ourselves on the care of our boarders, livestock, pastures, and facility. Horse pastures are separated from cattle with electric fencing. Horses have access to the barn or to a run-in shelter in each pasture. Mares and gelding are separated. Large round pen right next to horse barn, we just made it larger this week! Barn manager lives and works on-site full time. Full care and self care options avaliable. High quality UGA tested Tift 44 Bermuda hay squares baled on farm, provided daily in the winter. We’ve placed 1st for warm season perennial hay in NEGA’s hay contest the past 3 years in a row.
We have a historic wooden barn, built in 1905 by Jessi’s great great grandfather for his mules. It was completely redone in 2023 and now includes five stalls, tack bay, tack room and additional storage in the loft. Pasture board only, no stall board. Riding through docile cattle pastures. Trailer parking available at additional fee. Eyes on animals multiple times daily, regular vet, ferrier, and deworming options available. All disciplines are welcome, our barn family consists of retirees and laid back trail riders. If you’re looking for a closer place to retire your horse or a quiet laid back facility that’s not too busy, then we might be the place for you!

He shared his apple with Ralph, my other Windy Ridge Farm baby, who turned 14 this year.
