R Veterinary at Westside Veterinary Clinic

When your veterinarian recommends dental care for your pet, it's natural to have questions about what comes next.

A dental procedure isn't just about cleaning teeth. Your veterinary team may need to assess the health of the teeth and gums, look for problems that aren't obvious at home, and determine what care is appropriate for your pet.

Wondering what a dental visit would involve for your dog or cat? Our R Veterinary at Westside team can walk you through the process, explain the recommendations, and answer your questions before you make a plan.

Give us a call if you'd like to talk about your pet's dental health.

Sometimes, good veterinary care starts with slowing down.

A little extra patience, a gentle approach, or giving a nervous pet a moment to get comfortable can make a difference in their visit.

Every pet comes with their own personality, and getting to know what helps them feel safe is part of caring for them.

Here's a little glimpse of the people behind the care at Westside Veterinary Clinic. We're glad to be here for the pets and people of Jefferson City, one visit at a time.

Some people make a difference in a community one patient, one family, and one act of kindness at a time. Dr. Linda Patton is one of those people. ❤️

For 35 years, Dr. Patton has cared for the pets and families of Jefferson City, bringing compassion, dedication, and a genuine love for helping sick pets get back home to the people who love them.

It's not just the medicine that makes a difference. It's the reassurance during a difficult moment, the extra time spent answering a child's questions, and the kindness that families remember long after they've left the clinic.

Dr. Patton, thank you for the years you've devoted to R Veterinary at Westside and the community you continue to serve. We're grateful you're still here doing what you love, and we know so many families are, too.

If Dr. Patton has cared for one of your pets, we'd love to hear a memory or share in a little appreciation for her in the comments.

A little change of plans for our Pet Blessing ❤️🐾

We’ve decided to postpone our Pet Blessing at R Veterinary at Westside because kennel cough has been circulating in the Jefferson City area.

We know many of you were looking forward to gathering with us, and we were too. But when it comes to our patients, sometimes the kindest thing we can do is give everyone a little more time before bringing a whole bunch of dogs together.

We’re planning to reschedule for November 7th 2026.

In the meantime, we wanted to share a little information about kennel cough because knowing what to watch for can help you know when to monitor at home and when to give us a call.

Rabies case in a bat in Cole County! A stray cat was was in contact with the bat and is also being tested.
Please protect your pets by vaccinating them against rabies.
Call if you are unsure if your family pet is still protected. We do have vaccines that are guaranteed for 3 years, but inside Jefferson City limits requires the rabies vaccine every year.

The Cole County Health Department has confirmed a positive case of rabies in a bat following contact with a stray cat.

Summer fun with your best friend tip of the day:

Don't forget it only takes minutes for a parked car to become dangerously hot, even with the windows cracked. If you are running errands this summer, please leave your pet at home instead of in the car. R Veterinary at Westside wants every pet safe all season long -- it is one of the simplest ways to protect them.
