🐾 "I found a kitten, but I already have 3 cats..." 🐾
We hear this one a lot, and we have a little secret to share...
YOU are the help. 😂
Every time someone contacts a rescue because they found a kitten but already has a few cats, we have to gently explain that most rescue volunteers aren't operating a magical kitten-free sanctuary somewhere. We're sitting in our houses surrounded by cats too.
You have 3 cats? That's adorable.
Most of our volunteers have 15+ cats, plus fosters, plus bottle babies, plus the occasional animal that showed up and never left. 🤦♀️
Rescues aren't buildings full of empty cages waiting for kittens. We're regular people opening our homes, spare bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and sometimes our sanity to animals in need.
So when you find a kitten, congratulations! You may have accidentally become part of animal rescue. ❤️
We'll help with advice and resources when possible —but sometimes the biggest difference-maker is the person who found them.
And yes, we know. One kitten somehow takes up more space than 15 adult cats.
