Hello all. Important information in bits and pieces is better than no info at all.
This is Robert's ankle/leg. About 5-6 weeks ago, Robert acquired a tick hitchhiker from our property. We have deer visitors right up to our front porches everyday. Within a few days of removing the tick, the bullseye rash appeared. We did an unplanned visit to the Urgent Care/ER. His leg had started to ache and felt tight around the rash. Listen to your gut and go. After 10 days of Doxycycline, topical antibiotic, Advil and rest, the rash has pretty much left leaving a dry, visible patch. Robert has had additional bloodwork to check his inflammation levels. While our always trusted ARNP said Lyme's Disease lingering and causing issues is rare, we are still watching for any additional symptoms. If you are an outdoor family, we thought it worth sharing what his initial rash looked like and the obvious progression to an angry rash.

With Fall, a lot of families will head outdoors to camp, hunt, hike, or any activities exposing them to picking up a hungry tick. Checking over everyone, including the pets, for ticks each evening is important.
HAVE FUN AND CHECK FOR TICKS!
