There are many harsh chemicals on the market that are advertised to kill thrush - however, I’ve found that Desitin does the trick just fine!

The active ingredient, zinc oxide, naturally kills and prevents thrush in your horse’s hooves. It’s cheap, easy to use, and best of all, it’s safe to handle - unlike many of the other products that are toxic to both you and the horse.

Desitin cream is water resistant and creates a layer on the hooves that stays in place. I usually only need to apply it once a week, maybe twice if it’s very wet.
