Meet Marie Curie—our curious little scientist with the softest heart and just a touch of mischief.

Yes, she’s been caught studying door mechanics…
…but only because she wants to be where her people are. 💛

Marie is that perfect mix of:
• gentle + affectionate
• curious + observant
• independent… but still wants to check in on you

She’ll happily sit and watch the world from a window like a tiny queen 👑 but the second you come in the room, she’s like,
“Oh good, my human is here. Carry on, I’ll supervise.” She has been described as a shelter favorite.

Her specialties include:
🔬 soft head bumps
🔬 keeping you company without being overwhelming
🔬 making any space feel a little calmer (and a little cuter)

She spends her days watching and waiting… making sure she doesn’t miss a single moment of her new forever family walking in the door.

We have some pretty amazing dogs at the Dubois County Humane Society. Now through Friday, all adoption fees are waived for dogs and cats aged 7 months and older!

Hi! I’m Ginger, and I’m new around here. I was having a great time getting to know the shelter humans until they started using words like "plump" and—brace yourselves—"diet." 😱

I don’t know what kind of nonsense they’re talking about. I’m not "sturdy," I’m just a premium-sized snuggle bug! I’m looking for a forever home where my "Big Baby" energy is appreciated.

The Ginger Deets:
Kids: love 'em! (I'm a little rambunctious, but it’s just because I have so much love to give).
Cats/Dogs: I’m so new that I haven't had the chance to show the humans my opinions on the matter! 🕵️‍♀️
Goal: To find a couch big enough for both of us.

DCHS has the most incredible, giving community ❤️🐾

We made a plea for food and toys as we were scraping the bottom of the barrel a couple weeks ago. That request yielded OVER 3000 POUNDS of food and 2 large toy bins! 🥹

Your donations will last us over 200 days of feeding the dogs and 100 days for the cats. We were also able to build the cat litter stock, too!
