Some people come to work and do their job. Others become part of the very foundation that holds an organization together. ❤️
For close to 8 years now, Shelby has been one of those people at Dubois County Humane Society.
In an industry where no two days are ever the same, Shelby has worn more hats than we could ever begin to count. Veterinary technician, animal caretaker, problem solver, advocate, educator, and the person who steps in when something needs to get done.
She's seen the good, the bad, the heartbreaking, and everything in between. She's cared for animals who have never known kindness, helped countless others on their road to recovery, and been part of the second chances that make all the difficult days worth it.
And through years of changes, challenges, and growth at DCHS, Shelby has continued to show up for the animals and the people who depend on her.
Spending almost 8 years in animal welfare isn't just eight years of employment. It's eight years of dedication, sacrifice, compassion, and doing the work that most people never see.
During Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, we want Shelby to know just how much she is appreciated. Not just for the medical knowledge and skills she brings to our shelter and clinic, but for the countless responsibilities she's taken on along the way.
Shelby, thank you for the years you've given, the animals you've loved, the difficult days you've pushed through, and the many roles you've filled to help keep DCHS moving forward.
We see you. We appreciate you. And we are incredibly grateful that you're part of our DCHS family. ❤️🐾
Help us show Shelby some love this week!
