The kittens were busy this week... and so were our adopters! 🐱💕

It was a BIG week for kitten adoptions, with tiny paws heading out the door and into loving homes. While kitten season keeps our shelter bustling, there's nothing better than seeing these little ones find families of their own.

Of course, it wasn't just kittens that found their way home. 7 Dogs & a total of 34 cats found their happy endings, and we couldn't be more grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.

Every adoption creates space for another animal in need, and during kitten season, that space is more important than ever. Thank you to our adopters, fosters, volunteers, donors, and supporters for helping us change lives every single day. ❤️

We have added spay and neuter appointments throughout the remainder of June! Schedule online to reserve your appointment - https://bit.ly/3qyUQgH

*We're looking at about 80 open appointments through the end of June!*

Here's some bullet points about the appointments:
💳 When you schedule an appointment, you will be charged a non-refundable deposit which will be deducted from the total bill during your appointment.
💉 All cats and dogs must have a current rabies vaccination or purchase the vaccination ($21+tax) that day.
🩺 You may also elect to add additional vaccines such as FVRCP, DA2PP, Bordatella, Lepto, Lyme, etc.

If you're looking for a dog who will make every day a little brighter, allow us to introduce **Buster**. ❤️

At 5 years old, Buster has mastered the art of being the perfect companion. He's friendly with everyone he meets, loves other dogs, and is always ready to show off his impressive list of tricks. Sit? Check. Down? Check. Shake? Spin? Absolutely. This handsome boy is eager to learn and even more eager to earn a tasty treat for a job well done.

Buster has been patiently waiting for his forever family since October, and shelter life can be tough on even the best dogs. While he enjoys his walks, enrichment activities, and special office days, what he really wants is a home of his own—a cozy couch, a loving family, and someone to tell him what a good boy he is every single day.

The saddest part? We just can't understand why he's still here. Buster has so much love to give and deserves a family that will appreciate his sweet personality, playful spirit, and endless affection.

We had this sweetie pie mama dog come in this week and she gave us all a few gifts in the form of puppies!

This was definitely not something we were planning for, so we have a few asks for all the puppy lovers in our community. We need help with two main things to make sure that mama and her pups stay healthy and strong and continue to grow:

Our beloved long-staying resident, Fatboy, had a photoshoot for our 2027 calendar at Hesser Toyota and absolutely smashed it! We think he definitely has a chance at a modeling career 😂

Each month of the calendar will display a different business or group with one (or more) of our adorable adoptable* pets. We bring it all to you; the photographer, the pet and the planning ... you just provide the space! 🙀 Sign-up to feature your business today!!

Looking for more than a month? The 2027 calendar will also feature a 'coupon page' with local businesses offering specials & discounts to use throughout the year. Calendar sales will go directly to HSSW and helping pets go home again!

Lexa & Octavia are apart of a bonded pair, they are looking to stay together forever! 💖 They are both 7-years-old and are looking to settle down in a quiet home where they can be the center of attention, just look at those cute faces! 😍🐾

While Lexa can be a little on the shy side at first, her other half Octavia sure helps her to break out of her shell - these two sweet girls would thrive in a home who will give them the patience to open up at their own speed. Thor had a great time watching our Muttley Crue Run Club 2026 get started this week! He also really enjoyed that he got to watch from his air conditioned cat town and not out in the 'balmy' weather 😂
