A social site of the Blue Fairy Otterhounds, the AKC Otterhound Breeders of Merit and Breed Ambassad Our Otterhounds are social and versatile.

Our mission as the AKC Otterhound Breeders of Merit is to promote and preserve these wonderful hounds. With less than 800 Otterhounds in the world, they are one of the most endangered dog breeds. All our dogs are AKC Champions or Grand Champions and Good Canine Citizens. We participate in a variety of dog activities, including confirmation, obedience, agility and NoseWork. Our hounds are intellig

ent, friendly and great breed ambassadors. In our breeding program, we promote good health, temperament and most of all great family companions. Our puppies are raised in our home as family members with emphasis on good nutrition and both physical & social development. We welcome all opportunities to introduce our Pack to the public. We are sooo very lucky! Another great beach walk and equally fabulous breakfast. Bacon for the dogs, pancakes for the human. Life is good 😎🏖️🐾.

Another fabulous Scent Work weekend! It was hot hot hot 🔥 and Master level is more of a test for the human than the dogs - their nose never fails 🤣. Freddie got her Master Containers & Exterior titles 👍🐾 and Rachel got her sniffs in Master Buried & Exterior. I’m so glad i was there to assist (and did not fail them completely 😉). Happy Mothers Day to all dog Moms!! ❤️😎

On a hot Saturday morning, Freddie and I joined our Hidden Valley Obedience Club friends at the Humane Society Walk for Animals. What a great gathering of dogs and humans! 👍🐾. Freddie did very well although I’m pretty sure she thought we were moving too slow and she was not doing enough sniffing.. 🤣

Happy 10th Birthday to our St. Patrick puppies: Emme, Poppy, Colin, Lily, Floki, Zelda, Cordi & Rachel!! Oldie and goodie, not slowing down. Must be the “lucky genes” 🤣🧚‍♀️. Big THANKS to the owners for their love and care!! Blue Fairy Family indeed. ❤️🐾❤️

Wet dogs, happy dogs! 🐾. We had yet another perfect SoCal weekend, low tide, low 80s and no tourists yet.. 🤣. Freddie took her first swim in the tide river with Rachel leading the way. Better late than never 😎🌴🧚‍♀️

Freddie and I decided to resume our rally adventures. She was entered today in Rally Intermediate and qualified with a respectable 92 score and the 3rd placement! 🥉🐾. I’m so very proud! 👍❤️🧚‍♀️

Happy 7th Birthday to our one and only Harry, now Senior Wizard!! 🤣 🧙‍♀️🐾🎂. We miss you in SoCal but have some treats on the way to get the party started 🎉. Happy Happy!!

Sooo.. Last Sunday, Freddie met the cutest English Cocker puppies and loved it! ❤️🐾. It took her a while to figure out the speed and temper her enthusiasm.. fun to watch. I was too busy kissing the pups to take pics (cheating alert! 🤣) , but.. here is a small sample.

BIG day at today’s Scent Work trial: Rachel earned her Master Container title!! 🐾❤️. This is our first Master level title and I’m thrilled that it was Rachel who got there first. More to come tomorrow. I hope I won’t disappoint the dogs 🤣🤞
