🐾 Macy’s Pregnancy — Week 4!
Our sweet Macy is officially four weeks along! 🥰🐶 And while there may not be much of a baby bump to see just yet, behind the scenes those tiny puppies have been VERY busy growing.
At around this stage, the embryos have implanted securely in the uterus and are developing into recognizable little puppies. Their heads and bodies are taking shape, and early development of their eyes, spinal cords, limbs and internal organs is underway. They’re still incredibly tiny, but this is one of the most important developmental periods of the entire pregnancy.
Mama may start giving us a few clues, too. 💕 She might be a little sleepier, a little more affectionate, have some changes in appetite, or simply seem a bit more mellow than usual. Some dogs show quite a few signs at four weeks, while others act completely normal.
And here’s the crazy part: a dog’s entire pregnancy is only about nine weeks — roughly 63 days! That means we’re already getting close to the halfway point. 😳
Over the next couple of weeks, those tiny puppies will begin growing much more rapidly, and that’s when we may start seeing Macy’s body change along with them.
For now, our job is pretty simple: keep Mama happy, healthy and loved while she does the incredible work. ❤️
