In this series of videos, you’ll see RALPHIE and I on a walk after our play session.
He’s wearing his prong collar and I’m using a retractable leash. There’s plenty of room to move around so he’s not pulling.
That allows him to freely sniff and enjoy this fulfilling walk. The only thing I really asked of him is DON’T GO IN THE ROAD.
I take the road as a serious matter because we are using a 15 foot retractable leash. So if he touches the curb or the street, the floor is lava.
I help him by using that signal DON’T GO IN THE ROAD. He doesn’t quite know it at the beginning of the videos. So I give the signal before he has stepped on the curb or the street and I’m pretty gentle with him the first time.
After the second time he was punished for going in the road I could see he really understood the concept.
Towards the end or middle of the video, you’ll see a delivery person leave their vehicle with the passenger door open. I help RALPHIE make the right decision by saying the signal DON’T GO IN THE ROAD.
I totally believe if the first two times were not punished effectively he would have gone in the road to satisfy his curiosity.
