First, no dog/puppy should ever be in the front seat.
Second, every dog/puppy should have a harness, not a collar, and it should be connected to the seat belt or be anchored in some way.
Or they should be in a car crate or carrier and it should be anchored.
Practicing, and building the skill of calm car rides is so important for puppies and dogs.
Start small, and when I say small, I mean ridiculously small.
If your dog isn't used to a harness , you need to start there.
Your dog wasn't born knowing how to calmly ride in a car, So why not put the time in, to teach your dog to be safe and happy in the car too?
