Abandoned on the streets. Lucky Jim survived. Now he needs us. 🚨

I just received a heartbreaking recording from Abel’s Legacy Rescue regarding a case of severe neglect that is absolutely unacceptable.

This is Lucky Jim. He was found wandering the streets at Atlantic Beach on August 22, severely emaciated and weighing a mere 30 pounds—nearly half of what a golden doodle his age should weigh. While he is safe and recovering now, we have to look at how he got here.

We’ve been told that after being found, Lucky Jim reportedly sat in a kennel for four days without being medically evaluated. For a dog in this condition, every single day matters. Thanks to the Animal Warriors who refused to let him be forgotten, he has been pulled and is finally receiving the urgent care he deserves at Springfield Animal Hospital.

Lucky Jim was found furless in patches and so severely matted he had to be shaved. Despite the heartless suffering imposed on him, he remains a tender, kind-hearted boy who is finally feeling love. We are not here to assign blame before all the facts are known, but we are here to demand accountability.

How does a dog in this state reportedly go four days without medical evaluation? Who is responsible for leaving him to waste away at Atlantic Beach? Somebody knows something.
