to our incredible Pawsitive Reading volunteers! 📚🐾

So far this year, children ages 4–18 have spent nearly 11,000 hours reading aloud to the animals at JHS. Their time and kindness help our pets feel more relaxed and comfortable while they wait for their new homes. Many of the animals look forward to the attention and companionship they receive from our young readers, and we are so grateful for every hour they share!

We also give thanks to The Jim Moran Foundation for generously supporting this program and providing each participating child with a free book to take home.

Your weekend plans could include bringing home a cat. Just putting that out there. 🐱

Cat and kitten adoption fees at JHS will be waived October 31–November 1, thanks to a generous sponsorship from Missy’s family in her loving memory.

Come meet the cats, chat with our adoption team and see who catches your attention. You might head home with a little more company than you planned!

A big thank-you to Missy’s family for honoring her by helping other cats find families of their own. 🧡💚
