We are praying for power and safety of all of our neighbors, the City Of Jacksonville has neglected the Sandalwood areas drainage systems and created issue for more than us.

We have a few boarding pets, all safe and sound, one that thinks the water is the best thing ever, (we are looking at you Mason (okay and Ferya) and all of the employees are safe, but some without power.

We will be open on Monday, however our new grooming suite has significant water encroachment and we will have to assess things as the water recedes.

Please keep us in your thoughts, and if there is something we can be of assistance to any of our beloved clients, please reach out.

The cities drainage trench has left us in a puddle. We’ve spent a lot of time being ankle deep in the water, and our grooming suite has taken the brunt of it.

Diana just opened grooming back in March and we would really appreciate your support so that we can make sure she is able to stay because there will be things that have to be replaced thanks to mother nature.

When your tiny Yorkie takes a tumble before breakfast and lets out THAT yelp… she gets to come to work with Mom. 😂

Dolly had a little fall off a chair this morning, and because this teeny girl has fractured a leg before, we wanted to make sure she hadn’t done it again.

Thankfully, nothing appears broken — just a very relieved mom and one possibly sprained little ankle.

Dolly, however, has now been informed that she needs to start helping around the hospital to make up for the emotional distress she caused everyone this morning.

First assignment: radiology.

Safety first, so she needed her lead protection.

Unfortunately, Dolly is approximately the size of a baked potato, so the only thing that fit was the thyroid collar.

Very official.
Very protected.
Very employable. 😂

Today we said goodbye to a very special little guy. ❤️🐾

Sweet Stewie, somewhere along the way, you became more than one of our patients. Because you sometimes needed a little extra help getting to and from the hospital, several of us had the privilege of being part of your journey beyond our four walls, too. Through those moments, you carved out an extra-special place in all of our hearts.

Today, I went to your house thinking I was there to help get you to SJB one more time. We didn’t get to make that last trip.

Instead, I had the incredible honor of sitting beside you, gently petting your head, and being there with your mom as we said goodbye.

We love so many of the animals entrusted to our care, but every once in a while, one becomes part of our story, too.

Stewie, you were one of those special ones. You were deeply loved, and you will be very missed.❤️

Things are expensive right now. Groceries are expensive. Utilities are expensive. Life is expensive. And unfortunately, loving our pets doesn’t get any less expensive just because everything else went up.

We know that because we live here too.

SJB is a small, locally owned animal hospital, and the families who walk through our doors aren’t numbers to us. You’re our neighbors. We see you at the grocery store, at school, around town—and we know how much you love these animals who are part of your families.

So when there’s something we can do to make caring for them a little easier, I think we should do it.
