💕 The Story Behind Pawsh Boutique 💕
I feel like so many people see us set up at a market, see the shirts, tumblers, pet items, gifts and all the fun things we make—but they don’t necessarily know the story behind Pawsh Boutique or what supporting our little business truly means to our family.
So today, I wanted to share a little of that story.
I live with several autoimmune diseases—ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, along with a blood disorder. I was diagnosed with AS and RA around 25 years ago, and over the years there have been good days, bad days, and days where simply getting through the day took everything I had.
When Pawsh Boutique first came to fruition, my husband was working for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, our kids were still little, and I was working too. But my health was becoming harder and harder to manage.
Then one day, I fell over our English Mastiff puppy and injured my knee. That became one more thing in what felt like a never-ending spiral, and going back to a traditional job became increasingly difficult.
But our family still needed my income.
So I told my husband, “What if I start making dog collars and pet accessories?”
At the time, we had Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and our beautiful girl Macy, our English Mastiff. I could never find pretty collars for a big girl like Macy, so I figured—why not make them myself?
And that is where this little business started. ❤️
We made collars. Then we grew.
We started doing vinyl designs, tumblers and personalized items. Eventually we moved into sublimation and etching. We made wedding favors, bridesmaid gifts, groomsmen gifts and countless custom orders.
And somewhere along the way, this little idea became something much bigger than we ever imagined.
We have been part of the Orange Park Farmers & Arts Market for almost 15 years. We’ve done the Orange Park Fall Festival, Bostwick, Riverside Arts Market, events in Georgia and so many others along the way.
Our children grew up—and they grew up right alongside this business. They helped. They learned. They became part of it.
Then, in 2018, everything changed again.
My husband had back surgery while working for JSO. Complications followed, including another surgery just days later, and ultimately he had to retire.
Suddenly, Pawsh Boutique wasn’t just the business that helped pay for cheerleading, gymnastics and the extras for our kids.
We needed it.
Our household income changed dramatically overnight.
And I won’t sugarcoat it—it was hard.
There were times we didn’t know how everything was going to work out. There were tears. There was stress. There were markets where making sales wasn’t just exciting—it mattered to our family.
But we kept going.
We worked.
We prayed.
We trusted God.
And somehow, every single time we thought we couldn’t possibly figure out the next step, God made a way. 🙏🏼
And all these years later, here we are.
Still creating.
Still doing markets.
Still coming up with new ideas.
Still growing.
Still showing up.
Our daughter is now a teacher, and anyone who knows a teacher knows how much of their own heart—and often their own money—they pour into their classrooms. She still helps with the business, and the market helps her too.
And then there are our fur babies. ❤️🐾
We have several special-needs dogs, and their veterinary care, medications and everyday needs can cost a small fortune. Would we trade them for anything?
Absolutely not. Not for one second.
Some of them even come to the markets with us. If you’ve met Nova Rae or Danica at an event, you already know they’re part of the Pawsh Boutique crew too. 😂🐾
So when you stop at our booth…
When you buy a shirt.
When you grab a tumbler.
When you order something personalized.
When you buy one of our new creations.
When you share one of our posts, recommend us to a friend, or simply stop by and say hello…
You are supporting so much more than a booth at a farmers market.
You’re supporting a family.
You’re supporting a small business that helped carry us through some of the hardest seasons of our lives.
You’re supporting a mama who needed a way to work around a body that doesn’t always cooperate.
You’re supporting a retired law-enforcement family.
You’re supporting a teacher.
You’re helping us care for some very loved—and sometimes very expensive 😂—special-needs fur babies.
And you’re helping this little business that started with one woman wanting to make a pretty collar for her English Mastiff continue to grow all these years later.
That’s Pawsh Boutique.
That’s who we are.
That’s what you’re supporting.
And from the very bottom of our hearts, thank you. ❤️
To every person who has purchased from us, visited us at a market, shared a post, told someone about us, placed a custom order or supported us over all these years—you have blessed our family in more ways than you probably realize.
We could never adequately put into words how grateful we are.
Here’s to continuing to create, continuing to grow, continuing to show up on the hard days, and continuing to trust that God will lead us exactly where we’re supposed to go.
💕 Thank you for being part of the Pawsh Boutique story. 💕
