Boagie Update: The Happy Ending
Our boy is home and he's doing great. I waited to post about it until today's blood work. He numbers are mostly back to normal, nothing significant in blood work! He's eating well, taking his meds, and walking to the park and back. 🥰
We wanted to thank everyone for the support, the love, the concern- it has been overwhelming 😍 all of your donations went directly to the invoices, and those first minutes were so critical, every moment counted, and we did it, together 💯 thank for science being amazing, thank vet techs and Drs, they literally saved his life, let your dog give blood, and thank you one more time 🙂

The transfusion worked! His numbers are stable and he has started eating ❤️ there's a long road ahead of us but the most important thing is that Dave is bringing our boy home ❤️❤️❤️❤️

His numbers went back up last night. But he finished his injections. His biliruban came down. Boagies doc wants to try one more blood transfusion. His biliruban went down, so the liver injections are working. He just needs a little more time for his coagulation to come down. But that's what the transfusion is for. Another check this afternoon and we will know more then..

Update on Boagie

I just spoke with the Dr and she said he has responded well to the blood transfusion! His liver values came almost back to normal, his coagulation is almost normal, and he is brighter 🙂 he has been offered food and is nibbling at it. He will continue to be on dextrose IV fluids because his sugar is still low as well. If he eats, they will try oral medications, but he has 5 more injections of a liver treatment that will last until tomorrow morning. Bloodwork will be rechecked throughout today to see if the blood transfusion holds and his values stay out of the critical zone.
He seems to be out of crisis for the time being 🥰💯🤞🏽
As I receive more info, I'll update here for anyone following 🙂

Thank you all for so much love and support! We didn't expect such an intense response, and you actually overwhelmed the ER with calls. Lol thank you though! As everyone knows, they won't perform treatment until there is a 75% deposit, and you guys made the difference in him getting treatment quickly!! We are forever grateful for our friends, family, and community 💯

Good morning. I have some bad news. Boagie has been hospitalized this weekend. He turned yellow and we rushed him to the er. He has had blood work and fluids, and there's something wrong and they haven't figured out what yet. He is not contagious. His liver values are so high, his coagulation is off too. There are signs of liver disease. They still need to do an ultrasound and a biopsy of his liver. We had to transport him to a better facility last night, and he is currently at First Coast Vet Emergency in Jax Beach.
