He was adopted by his medical fosters and lived to be five and a half before succumbing to lymphoma on 8/19/19. Zoink is, quite possibly, the cutest pit bull in San Diego. He was born in early January, 2014 with type 2 congenital lateral elbow luxation. He was found on the streets of Downey, Los Angeles when he was 7 weeks old, and the shelter that picked him up contacted the Labradors and Friends
Dog Rescue in San Diego so that he wouldn't end up on the euthanasia list. After a couple of short visits with two foster families, Zoink arrived at his long-term foster home with his two Chihuahua foster siblings, Spud and Isis. Zoink has been through two surgeries on both elbows, parvo, and is now in physical therapy to relieve the constant arthritic pain in his joints, as well as undergoing stem cell treatment. Despite all this, he is the most loving, joyous, exuberant dog. He touches everyone around him, and his positive attitude and strength through so much adversity is truly inspiring. On November 14th, 2014, Zoink's foster owners adopted him, medical issues and all. They couldn't imagine their lives without him, and he certainly keeps things interesting!
