Created with the purpose of bridging the gap between limited local county funding and the ability to provide services to find lost animals, and when called upon, humans. By working with committed volunteers, local veterinarians and trainers we are able to assist many animals in need. We also serve as a resource by providing educational and training programs to the community.

October is Adopt-a-Shelter Dog month so we are celebrating with one of our biggest adoption events of the season to close out summer and welcome fall!

Join us this Saturday and Sunday at PetSmart on Monument Road from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. for Dogtoberfest, a free adoption event (city license fee may apply).

Throughout the weekend we will have more than 50 dogs available for you to meet with new dogs arriving each day! Not able to make it to PetSmart, no problem! Adoptions will also be free at Animal Care & Protective Services at 2020 Forest Street from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. both days. To view available dogs ready to celebrate with you, visit coj.net/adopt.
