Bruiser is an easygoing pup who enjoys spending time with calmer, like-minded dog friends during playgroup. We are challenging YOU 🤙 How many dogs can we get to see the beach during the month of June through our Snout Scouts Day Out Program?

Our Snout Scouts Day Out program gives shelter dogs a chance to get out, explore, and enjoy a day of adventure while helping us learn more about their personalities outside the shelter. And what better adventure than a trip to one of Onslow County's beautiful beaches?

🏖️ Hammocks Beach State Park
🏖️ Onslow Beach (if you have base access)

We challenge YOU to check out a shelter dog for the day and show them the sand, sunshine, and fresh ocean air they deserve! Whether it's a walk along the shore, a relaxing beach day, or just some quality one-on-one time, you'll be making a huge difference in a dog's life.

☀️ Happy Monday, everyone! ☀️

Before we jump into a new week, we'd like to take a moment to celebrate all of the amazing adoptions that took place over the past seven days.

Every kennel and cat condo that emptied this week represents a life changed forever. From puppies and kittens to adult pets and seniors, each animal that left our shelter found something truly special—a family to call their own.

We are so grateful to everyone who chose adoption this week and to the volunteers, fosters, staff, donors, and supporters who helped make these happy endings possible. Your support allows us to continue caring for animals in need and preparing them for their next chapter.

Join us in congratulating all of our newest adopters and their furry family members! 🎉🐾 We can't wait to see what this week has in store for the animals still waiting for their forever homes.

Meet Daisy & Luigi 💛🐾

These two sweet senior pups came to us together as strays, and despite everything they’ve been through, their love for people has never faded. Shortly after arriving at the shelter, both developed pneumonia and spent time healing in a loving foster home. We’re happy to share that they now both have a clean bill of health and are officially ready to find their forever homes!

Daisy is heartworm positive and Luigi is heartworm negative, but both are full of love and ready to spend their golden years being spoiled. They can be adopted together or separately, though they do enjoy each other’s company. These seniors would do best in a calmer home with laid-back dog friends who also appreciate the slower side of life.

If you’re looking for gentle companions to share quiet days, cozy naps, and lots of love, Daisy and Luigi may be the perfect match. 🐶💕

We are currently overloaded with adorable chaos — from squishy little puppies to our sweet long-term residents who are still waiting for someone to finally say “YOU’RE COMING HOME WITH ME.” 🐶❤️
