FOJA welcomes Forever Friends Jax to the Jacksonville community of organizations working to support ACPS and meet the various needs of shelter animals while they wait for their forever homes. FFJ is starting out by focusing on providing enrichment items for the shelter pets.

For 18 years, Friends of Jacksonville Animals has remained committed to supporting the animals at ACPS. Our mission remains strong, with FOJA continuing to fund the shelter’s heartworm treatment program, cover the costs of specialty surgeries and diagnostic testing performed by outside veterinarians, assist with requests from Animal Control Officers on behalf of residents, and help address other needs as they arise.

We wish Forever Friends Jax well as they begin their work in support of the shelter pets of Jacksonville.

Animal Care & Protective Services volunteer Darrell has been hard at work repairing the Kuranda beds thanks to your donations towards this project. Instead of ACPS having to spend money buying new beds, it’s more cost efficient to repair the existing beds. As you can see, the shelter pups are enjoying their freshly made beds. One dog. One number.

Approximately $150 covers one in-shelter heartworm treatment for a dog at Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS).

This essential medical care falls outside what basic shelter funding is built to cover. FOJA helps bridge that gap alongside our ACPS partners, giving dogs the treatment they need to become healthy and ready for homes.

Since 2008, FOJA has helped treat more than 5,000 dogs. As an all-volunteer organization, every donated dollar goes directly to medical care and animal welfare.

Ninety-six percent of donated funds directly support animal care and welfare. The remaining 4% covers essential operations that help us keep the mission moving: always with the animals at the center.

On November 7, Jax Tours will host All Paws On Deck aboard the USS Orleck: a family-friendly adoption and fundraising event benefiting FOJA and ACPS.

We’re inviting businesses and community partners to come aboard as sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities range from Community Partner to Presenting Sponsor, with benefits including event recognition, logo placement, vendor space, and social media visibility.

Your business can help bring local shelter pets and potential adopters together while showing the community that you stand behind Jacksonville’s animals.

At Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS), our dedicated shelter partner, 100 heartworm-positive dogs are currently waiting for their next chapter.

This year, FOJA has funded 55 in-shelter heartworm treatments: helping dogs become healthy and ready for homes. Treatment is funded and completed in-shelter through the medical protocol, and adoption follows after treatment is finished.

Potential adopters can help by fostering a dog through treatment, giving them comfort, routine, and confidence while they heal. 🐾
