We said goodbye to our favorite stray today. 😞
MUSCLE MAN Benny started coming around the courtyard 3 to 4 years ago. I initially thought something was wrong with him, because his head was SO massive. I was certain that he had tumors in his face, and that he needed to be put down desperately. But turned out, he was just a tomcat. The growths were merely MASSIVE jowls. All he needed was a good neutering, lol. So that’s what we did. He got his vaccinations and we sent him on his way. Over the course of the next few months, he lost his muscle mass, and the massive jowls completely disappeared.
He had always been a bit drippy from the eyes and nose. Likely feline herpes.
But sometime around September 2025, he began to show signs of some sort of upper respiratory infection.
We went through several rounds of antibiotics, as well as several injections of antibiotics. We went through 45 days in containment with a humidifier. Nothing seemed to work.
In February, he was released from his containment to roam the neighborhood as he has been known to do. Within two days, a large hard lump appeared in the middle of his forehead. Bone hard.
I took him back to the vet, and was told that in their professional opinion, that the lump was almost certainly cancerous. We gave him a steroid to see if that would make a difference in the swelling and the size of the lump. But he disappeared for 11 days, and when he shown back up he was far worse than he was before.
I had to make the tough but obvious call to finally alleviate his suffering and have him put down.
And so that’s what happened. That’s MM Benny’s story. He was one tough cat. And he was loved until the very end.

I would like to thank Presley, his other caretaker for helping along in the struggle to get him right. She’s been awesome, and is just as heartbroken on the whole matter. We fought hard for him. 😞🙏

It’s a tough day. But I’m only relieved that he came home at the last minute, and that I was able to see it through to the end, as opposed to wondering what happened to him if he had simply disappeared.
I am very thankful for that. I will always know what happened. 🙏🙏🙏

This is MUSCLE MAN Benny. He needs help. 😞
A friendly stray that has been showing up on my porch for food and rest every 1-3 days for the last several years. I’ve had him neutered and vaccinated. I’ve also brought him to my vet to have his blood tested to make sure he didn’t have any life-threatening diseases. Not to mention back to the vet a couple times in order to get antibiotics to try and get his upper respiratory infection under control. We also believe he has feline herpes, to which I medicate him as much as possible.
It’s been years, and he’s always drippy and watery eyed. He often has somewhat bloody sludgy buildup in his nostrils, to which I remove any time it is there. The fight against his upper respiratory infection has been a struggle for quite some time. And it doesn’t seem like it’s ever going to go fully away. Although it is better than it was a few months ago. Maybe that’s because the cold weather made it worse. Who knows.

The new problem?? Long story short, I saw him over at a friend’s house across the ditch around three weeks ago. He was his normal vaguely sick self. About two days later, he shows up on my porch and he has this massive knot on his forehead in between his eyes. It certainly wasn’t there a couple days prior, but there it was. I thought that maybe he got stung by a bee or perhaps got knocked on the forehead by something and it put a lump there.
But it’s been three weeks now. And the lump is still as much there as it ever has been. Nothing has changed whatsoever. And the weirdest thing of all, is that it is extremely hard. It’s not soft whatsoever. It is BONE HARD. I’m completely clueless as to what is going on.

I will bring him to my vet this week for an exam. If it is not an infected mass that needs to be drained, which I’m almost certain it is not… I’m pretty sure they’re going to want to do an x-ray. Needless to say, it will likely cost several hundred dollars. The exam is a little under $100. Then they go from there.
I just got my car out of the shop last week for $1100. They wanted $2600 for everything. 😲 That didn’t happen, of course. I’ve also been to my personal vet several times in the last 4 to 6 weeks for some of MY cats, not to mention the city vet in order to have upwards of 10 cats spayed or neutered and vaccinated. It’s been a hectic, costly last month.

I will likely have the money I need to bring MUSCLE MAN Benny in this week, but it’s gonna hurt for sure. I had not planned on a new “cat situation” to pop up in the midst of all of the situations I’m already working on.

If you would like to help out with MUSCLE MAN’s upcoming vet visit with a few dollars, please send any donations to one of the apps listed below. It doesn’t need to be anything crazy. Any amount would help tremendously.

Any and all donations are deeply appreciated. 🙏
NOTE: I will post photos and/or videos of the vet visit, as well as photos of the veterinarians invoice once the visit is complete, to provide as much transparency as possible. And hopefully I’ll have an answer for what is going on with the little homie as well. Thank you!! 😊

The cost of Revolution Plus for my cats has went up significantly. I used to pay $270-$280 for 12 doses. Today it was $340. This is fairly concerning, as the incoming money I tend to save for my cats has already taken a hit and been drastically reduced in the last month, all while the world decides it needs to become far more expensive for some reason. And I’ve recently rescued two extra cats. Future looks bright.

REMI and MARTIN!! Trapped 2 black ferals at a friends house. It’s the same location that I saved my tiny Siamese, Miso. I’m pretty sure the black cat in the first photograph here, is her sibling. I had to put the traps out where there was no shade, so they were a little hot, as you can see. But they cooled down rather quickly once they were inside an air conditioned vehicle. I’m on my to First Coast No More Homeless Pets for spay/neuter surgery as well as vaccinations. 🥰

NOTE: I was hoping to catch the mother of Miso, as she is already super pregnant again. But I haven’t seen her in a couple days, and I’m afraid she might’ve already had the litter. We will find out soon enough.

I just trapped my 5th cat in the last 30 days!!
All 5 were from the ongoing explosion of stray/feral cats in my yard. 3 of which, were black with no tails, which is a common trait among these wild yard cats. But 2 of them are very nice. One I suspect was the neighbors actual cat, and the other was its half-wild offspring. This one here has just been dropped off at First Coast No More Homeless Pets for spay/neuter and vaccinations, and I’ll bring it back to the yard to live out its life.
