It’s officially VET TECH WEEK, and what better way to kick things off than by celebrating our two amazing Registered Veterinary Technicians, Chelsea and Megan! ❤️

Now, getting these two to cooperate for a picture? That might have been harder than getting a cat into a carrier. 😂📸

But behind the laughs and shenanigans are two incredibly hardworking women who help keep our patients safe, comfortable, and cared for every single day.

From monitoring anesthesia and assisting with procedures to comforting nervous patients and overseeing recovery, these ladies do SO much more than most people realize!

This week, we’re putting the spotlight on Chelsea and Megan and showing some well-deserved appreciation for everything they bring to Adoption First Veterinary Clinic.

Our clinic may be closed today, but the team is here busy getting some much needed cleaning and organizing done!

♻️ Don’t toss those empty litter jugs—we want them! 🐾

We reuse the Tidy Cats-style jugs with the twist caps as sharps containers here at the clinic, and we could definitely use some extras!

If you have any empty, clean jugs lying around, we would be SO grateful to take them off your hands. ❤️ You can drop them off at the clinic/rescue anytime between 9:00 AM–5:30 PM.

Every jug helps us out AND keeps one more container from heading straight to the trash. Win-win! 🥰

🩺🐾 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY: “But my pet never goes anywhere…”

We hear this one a lot! So let’s break it down. 👇

🏠 Your pet may stay home…but YOU don’t.

Every time we walk through a parking lot, visit a store, go to work, walk through the grass, or even visit another home, our shoes and clothing can pick up germs along the way.

Then what happens?

👟 We walk back into our house or yard.
🐾 Our pets walk, sniff, lick, and play in those same areas.
🦠 And just like that, something from outside has made its way into their environment—even though they never left home.

The same idea applies to our indoor kitties. 🐱 They may never step a paw outside, but we do—and we bring the outside world back in with us.

💉 That’s one of the reasons we recommend keeping pets up to date on their core vaccines.

Vaccines help protect them from serious—and in some cases potentially deadly—diseases they can be exposed to in ways we don’t always think about.

Think of vaccines like a seatbelt: we don’t buckle up because we expect an accident. We do it because we want protection there just in case. ❤️

Keeping your pet protected doesn’t mean they have to be a social butterfly, go to daycare, or roam the neighborhood.

Sometimes, their biggest connection to the outside world is us. 🐾
