This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're celebrating the incredible Associates who make our hospitals thrive — like Karen, who began as a CSR and never stopped growing and like Joanne, who sought mentorship and support to obtain her VTNE.

At VCA, we're proud to champion our veterinary technicians every step of the way — offering mentorship, encouragement, and the resources to help you reach your full potential.

To every vet tech in our VCA family: thank you. What you do matters deeply — to our teams, to our patients, and to the pet owners who trust us with their most beloved companions.

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

🎆 Be honest...

When the fireworks start, your pet is most likely to:

🐶 Hide under the bed
🐱 Camp out in the closet
🐶 Follow you everywhere
🐱 Act completely unbothered
🐶 Bark at every boom

Tell us in the comments.

If your pet gets stressed during fireworks, now is a great time to talk with your veterinarian about ways to help them feel more comfortable this holiday.

06/30/2026

Booms to us... can be terrifying to them. 💥🐶

As fireworks light up the sky, many dogs experience intense fear and anxiety. The loud, unpredictable noises can trigger panic, trembling, hiding, pacing, and even attempts to escape. Firework-related anxiety is one of the most common behavioral concerns veterinarians see this time of year.

If your pet struggles with fireworks, don't wait until the celebrations begin to seek help. The team at VCA Augustine Loretto Animal Hospital is here to help you find the best solution for your pet, so everyone can enjoy a safer, less stressful holiday.

❤️ Your pet's comfort matters just as much as their health.

Happy Friday! 🐾💙

As the weekend begins, it's the perfect time to check in on your pet's health. Preventive care like routine wellness exams, vaccinations, and early screenings can make a lifetime of difference.

Whether your furry friend is a playful puppy, a curious kitten, or a beloved senior companion, our team is here to help them live their happiest, healthiest life.

Have a safe and fun weekend—and if your pet is due for a checkup, we'd love to see you soon!

🐾 Does your pet hide when fireworks start?

Many pets experience anxiety during fireworks season. Common signs include:
• Hiding
• Trembling
• Pacing
• Excessive barking or vocalization
• Destructive behavior

The good news? You don't have to wait until the Fourth of July to help.

If your pet struggles with fireworks, schedule an appointment now to discuss options that may help them feel more comfortable during the holiday.
