Don't forget that our Furever Vets Central location offers Endoscopy! 🚨

🩺 What is endoscopy?
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to examine
the internal organs or take tissue samples. A small, flexible tube with a camera (endoscope) is inserted into the body via natural openings like the mouth or re**um, or through small incisions, allowing the veterinarian to visualize the area without the need for traditional surgery.

🏥 What are the benefits of using endoscopy?
- Minimally invasive: This procedure uses natural openings, which reduces recovery time, pain, and complications.
- Less trauma: There’s less tissue damage compared to traditional surgery.
- Quick recovery: Pets often resume normal activity sooner with fewer restrictions.
- Improved diagnostics: Veterinarians can visualize internal organs in real-time, and take precise biopsies or samples with minimal risk.

🐾 What conditions are diagnosed or treated using endoscopy?
- Gastrointestinal issues: Identifying causes of vomiting, diarrhea, or foreign body ingestion.
- Respiratory problems: Investigating causes of chronic coughing, sneezing, or nasal discharge.
- Urinary tract conditions: Diagnosing issues in the bladder or urethra.
- Tissue biopsies: Collecting samples from the stomach, intestines, or lungs.

Did you know that today is World Rabies Day?
📍 In Florida, pets are required by law to have their rabies shot for the safety of the pet, humans, and other animals. There are tons of wildlife in Florida, such as raccoons, that can carry the disease and potentially spread it. Always be safe and protect your pet - book your appointment to vaccinate today!

Don't forget that our Central location offers laparoscopic spays! 🐶🐱

🏥 What is a laparoscopic spay?
A laparoscopic spay is a minimally invasive surgical procedure
used to remove a female pet’s ovaries. It differs from traditional spays by using small incisions and a camera (laparoscope) to guide the surgery, resulting in less tissue trauma.

🩺 How does a laparoscopic spay differ from a traditional spay? In a traditional spay, a larger incision is made in the abdomen to remove both the ovaries and uterus. In a laparoscopic spay, only small incisions are made, and usually, only the ovaries are removed. This reduces pain, recovery time, and risks associated with the procedure.

🐾 What are the benefits of a laparoscopic spay?
- Less post-operative pain: Smaller incisions mean less discomfort for your pet.
- Faster recovery: Pets typically recover quicker and can resume normal activities sooner.
- Reduced risk of complications: The precision of laparoscopic surgery lowers the risk of excessive bleeding and infection.
- Smaller scars: The smaller incisions leave minimal scarring.

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT, AUGUST - RIVERSIDE 🌟
Everyone say HELLO to Katrina - she is our employee spotlight for our Riverside location! Katrina is one of our FABULOUS Vet Technician's and Receptionist's and we are so glad to have her be a part of our 💙

If you see her soon, make sure to congratulate her or show her some love in the comment section below! ⬇️ 🎊

🐾 Reason for the spotlight for this month: "Always helping her team! Whether working reception or tech she has a great attitude and an amazing team player!"

🐾 What is your favorite thing about coming to work?
My favorite thing about coming into work is knowing I'm surrounded by compassionate people who genuinely care about animals and their families. I also love that every day brings new and interesting cases that help me grow in the field.

🐾 Do you have any pets?
Yes! I have 2 dogs, Lady and Buddy(Bug)! Buddy is a 75 pound husky lab mix!! He is my velcro dog that believes personal space is optional. He loves to be everywhere I am, he even sleeps on my head at night! Lady is my lazy chunky girl that believes every snack belongs to her. That girl would never turn down a nap and some cookies! She is definitely the most affectionate dog I've ever met. This November they will be upgraded to Big Brother and Big Sister, I know they will make the best siblings ever!

🐾 Do you have any fun facts about yourself?
I have a huge passion for reading!!

🐾 Why did you want to work in the vet field?
I've always had a passion for helping/caring for animals and wanted a career where I could make a difference. At a very young age i was nicknamed " Mother Hen" to all of the animals and children in my family because i wanted nothing more than to look out for those who could not look out for themselves or even speak for themselves.

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT, JULY - RIVERSIDE 🌟
Everyone say HELLO to Madilynn - she is our employee spotlight for our Riverside location! Madilynn is one of our FABULOUS Vet Technician's and we are so glad to have her be a part of our 💙

If you see her soon, make sure to congratulate her or show her some love in the comment section below! ⬇️ 🎊

🐾 Reason for the spotlight for this month: "Showing a lot of growth in her position!"

🐾 What is your favorite thing about coming to work?
My favorite thing about coming to work is getting to help animals feel better and learning something new every day. I also really love my team and being able to make a difference together at Riverside!

🐾 Do you have any pets?
Yes! I have two Golden Retrievers, Maple and Zeus. Maple is super sweet and loves swimming, playing outside, and being around people. Zeus is my goofy boy with a big personality who keeps everyone laughing. They’re both a huge part of my life and love going on adventures with me.

🐾 Do you have any fun facts about yourself?
I graduated high school 6 months early at 17 and started working as a Veterinary Technician just 2 weeks before I turned 18. I also own a photography business, so when I’m not at the clinic I’m usually taking photos, being outside, or spending time with my dogs.

🐾 Why did you want to work in the vet field?
I’ve always loved animals and knew from a young age I wanted to work in a field where I could help them. Being able to care for animals and support their owners while learning every day is really rewarding. I’m currently in college and working toward becoming a licensed veterinary technician.
