August 24thā¦Scarletteās Gotcha Day! For some reason, I didnāt share her ADOPTION publicly, so Iām catching up now. š
This dainty gal sure was full of surprises!! We fostered her for about a month and found out within minutes that she was NOT crate trained and had incredible anxiety over separation and thunder! It was a really SAD sight. But Holly Molter came to the rescue with a carrier crate to keep Scarlette safely confined (she had literally EATEN through two metal crates in the first 24 hours) and within 3 days her thunder anxiety was at a minimum with ZERO medications! Even I was surprised at how quickly she let that go! She would look around frantically when she heard thunder and I just told her no and to lay down and that she did. She went from shaking violently, panting, looking for an escape route, to just cuddling up and riding the storm out. š„° I was SO proud of her. There were so many more hurdkes that would turn this post into a novel. š«£š
So Iāll keep it short.
Scarlette seemed to have very āspecialā needs and as many times as I wanted to quit, we stuck it through and it was an absolute miracle that a lovely older couple responded to Jensenās share to NextDoor! That very weekend they drove 30 minutes to pick Scarlette up and sign her adoption papers!
They ADORE her and have not had a single complaint about her! š
There truly is a perfect home for every dog! Scarlette is living her best life with lots of pampering and great care. I enjoy getting updates from her new mom every few weeks. She really hit the jackpot. š„¹ Happy Tails Scarlette! š
