Yes, I’m still offering training alongside bodywork!
Both areas are incredibly rewarding. Through massage therapy, I get to slow down and listen to what a horse’s body has to say. Through training, I get to explore how their minds work and guide them as they learn.
Last week my filly, Brooklyn, reached 30th ride under saddle. We’ve taken things very slow to support her growth, but mentally she’s absorbing so much.
We’ve worked on: Standing patiently for saddling, mounting and dismounting. Walking, trotting, loping, and transitions. Stoping and backing. Understanding leg, seat, and rein cues. Side steps, rollbacks, and body control. Ba****ck rides, solo rides, and trail rides, arena rides, and even night rides. Desensitizing and exposure to things like dogs, cars, and hauling.
It’s amazing to watch her confidence grow, her mind develop, and her body strengthen. Training and massage together give me the chance to see both sides of the horse while helping each horse feel and perform their absolute best!
Excited for what the next 30 rides will bring!
