When people ask me what equine wellness is like…

Honestly? Sometimes it really does feel like magic ✨

There’s something about the quiet, the horses, and the way each horse shows up differently for each person — in exactly the way they seem to need.

It helps people slow down, breathe, connect, and feel what they need to feel.

Sometimes the quiet moments say the most.

The sweetest Sunday surprise on the farm 🐑🤎

Our newest little farm baby was born this morning, just in time for a full Sunday on the farm.

Part 3 🤎

After the indoor arena came down, the space still needed a lot of work.

First came the cleanup. Then the old wall where the indoor had rested against the barn needed to be patched, and once that was done, it was time for paint.

Since the fig tree had been saved from the demo, we knew we wanted to make it part of the new space. 🌳

So we worked around it.

We surrounded it with benches and created a little family area where people could sit, relax, and still feel completely immersed in the farm.

The swings came over, picnic tables were added, and then came the fun parts — mega bubbles, lasso, Connect 4, and space for families to just hang out while being surrounded by animals on three sides. 🫧🐑🐴

Sheep on one side. Horses nearby. Fresh air and farm life all around.

It may not be the permanent solution for this space, and we still hope to rebuild our indoor arena one day, but for now, it has enhanced the farm in such a beautiful way. 🤎

What started as a collapse became a whole new space for families to enjoy.

Part 2: demolition day. 🚜

After the indoor arena came down in the snowstorm, there wasn’t much we could do right away.

First, we had to wait.
The snow had to melt enough for workers to safely get in and actually see what we were dealing with. ❄️

And while we waited, the ideas started flowing.

Before the indoor arena was even fully knocked down, we were already dreaming, planning, and asking the big question:

What could this space become?

But along with all the ideas came one very real pressure…

The petting zoo was opening in early April, and we needed this space safe, clean, and ready in time. 🐐

And once the snow cleared, what was left was… a lot.

Twisted beams.
Broken pieces.
Construction debris.

A giant mess sitting right in the middle of the farm.
It was sad to see it like that, but once it was already down, we knew the only way forward was through.

So demolition day came. 🚧

And somehow, I got to drive the machine and smash part of it myself. 😂

There was something kind of crazy about sitting there, knocking down pieces of the indoor arena we had spent so much time talking about, worrying about, and trying to figure out.

It was messy.
It was loud.
It was dusty.
And honestly… it was also a little fun. 😅

And in the middle of all of it, there was one thing we were very clear about:

The fig tree had to stay. 🌳
The fig tree had been resting alongside the indoor arena, and we told the workers they needed to save it and work around it.
Somehow, they did.
A tiny little reminder that even in the mess, not everything had to be lost. 🤍

Then came the cleanup.

Piece by piece, the broken parts were moved away. The construction debris was cleared, the metal was hauled out, and the space slowly started opening up again.

What had felt so overwhelming began to look a little more possible.
And then, finally, we saw it.
A clean slate. 🤍
No more collapsed indoor arena.
No more twisted metal.
No more giant question mark sitting in the middle of the farm.

Just open space.
And the beginning of what could come next.

PART 1: THE FALL

This story doesn’t start with a blueprint. 📝

It doesn’t start with a beautiful before-and-after, or a perfectly planned farm upgrade.

It starts with snow, shock, a collapsed indoor arena… and somehow, our famous chandelier still hanging on for dear life. ❄️

For a while, the indoor arena had been a problem we knew we needed to solve. It needed repairs, and as the farm kept growing, it became clearer that we needed a bigger indoor space to really fit our needs.

We kept talking about it.

What should we do?
Fix it?
Replace it?
Wait a little longer?
Dream bigger?

And then the storm came.

The snow got heavier, the structure couldn’t hold, and the indoor arena came down.

Thankfully, no animals were harmed. 🤍
But we were shocked.

The beams were twisted. The roof had given in. And there, in the middle of the whole collapsed mess, was the famous chandelier — the one everyone always asked about, because honestly… why was there a chandelier in an indoor arena? 😂

That chandelier was here long before us. It was a gift from the previous owner’s husband, and somehow it became one of those funny little farm quirks everyone noticed.

It saw so many riders walk in.
So many lessons.
So many moments.
So many memories made under those beams. ✨

So seeing it still hanging there, from its beam for dear life, felt like the indoor arena was holding onto one last piece of its story.

Even when something already needs work, seeing it fall is a different kind of feeling.

It was overwhelming.
It was sad.
It was shocking.

But looking back, this was the first page of a whole new chapter. 🤍

👩‍🌾 Real farm girls at work 🤎🐴

On Sunday, the girls did paddock checks in the horse fields, checking posts, rails, loose nails, and boards to help make sure the fencing stayed safe and secure for the horses 🪵🔨✨ It was real work, and real service for the herd. 🤍

But one of the most special parts was the sharing space. The girls were not just working near the horses, they were working with them in their space, staying aware of their movements, energy, and presence. The horses kept coming over for little check-ins, hugs, and quiet moments of connection 🐴🤍 and then the girls would go right back to work. There is something so special about that balance of responsibility, trust, and closeness — caring for the horses while being welcomed into their world at the same time. 🌾✨🤎
