MYTH: Indoor cats don’t need parasite prevention.
TRUTH: Fleas and mosquitoes don’t always respect closed doors! Indoor cats can still be exposed through open doors, screens, other pets, or pests that find their way inside. Ask your veterinary team which year-round prevention is appropriate for your cat’s lifestyle. 🐱🦟

Planning a Labor Day cookout? Keep curious noses away from unattended plates, grill grease, skewers, corn cobs, alcohol, and sugar-free foods. A secure trash can and a pet-safe place away from the grill can help everyone enjoy the long weekend safely! 🐾☀️

Everybody say hello to Peppa! 🐾💕

This sweet little girl came in for her very first puppy visit and wasted no time stealing every heart in the building. With that spotted nose and those precious puppy-dog eyes, we didn’t stand a chance! 😍

Welcome to the Carlton Animal Clinic family, Peppa! 🩺🐶

A real reminder from one of our recent patients… 🐾

After treating a dog for injuries following a dog fight, we found something unexpected: the pet’s microchip had fallen out after the trauma.

This is very uncommon, but it serves as an important reminder that microchips aren’t something we should “set and forget.”

At your pet’s annual wellness visit, ask us to scan their microchip. It only takes a few seconds to confirm it’s still present and can be read by a scanner.

While you’re at it, take a moment to verify that your contact information is current with your pet’s microchip registry.

Don’t have a microchip yet? Ask us about it! We offer microchip implantation and would be happy to answer any questions about the process.

We hope your pet is never lost, but if they ever are, a working microchip with up-to-date information gives them the best chance of finding their way home. ❤️
