Meet Marvin
Marvin is available for adoption BUT only to a brave soul willing to shed a few tears and maybe get some bite marks, who has a ton of patience and training skills.
Pros: he's cute in his own way. He loves attention. He wants to play with the other dogs (they're not really into it). He takes corrections well most of the time. He's already neutered and microchipped and has his shots. His hair will likely grow back nicely. He let me cut the clumps of mats on his face if I went slow. And was OK with being scissored on his body if I went slow as well. He did fine for the bath.
Cons: He bites. Pretty hard. When he's nervous, scared, resource guarding, playing, if you pick him up too fast, putting a collar or leash on too fast, and just randomly. He's pretty viscous over food so gets fed in a crate and does fine in there. However, because of the resource guarding, the bowls get picked up when he's in a different room. He's very food aggressive but also food motivated. He did try marking the 1st day he was here but hasn't since. So assume he's house trained. He chases the cats but hasn't hurt them. He wants to play with them but he's just too rough for their liking.
Marvin was picked up as a stray so we don't know much about him or his past. He was matted and had fleas so had to be spot shaved. He's flea free with a clean bill of health now so should look great over time. He seems to be around 5 yrs old or so. So plenty of time to work with him and fall in love. He can get another bath in a few days when his neuter stitches are healed. He wants to be right up under me all day but that's completely understandable given that his entire life changed over the last 2 weeks. He wants to be someone's best good boy. He's just not great at it, YET.
If you're interested in him and want to meet him, just send a message. He's right here waiting at the salon in Jackson, GA.
