โ๏ธ๐๐พ Summer is here! ๐พ๐โ๏ธ
Lets touch on some summer safety tips to keep your pups cool on those hot days! ๐
๐ When cooling your dog, always apply cold water or ice cubes to their chest, arm pits, bellies, feet. These are the most effective areas to help lower their body temperature.
๐ Always have water available 24/7 in their crates, around the house, etc. Carry a collapsible water bowl with you for watering while traveling / adventuring!
๐ On hotter days (83 degrees +), do routine walks / hikes early in the morning. Please keep in mind your dog's breed! Short muzzled breeds are more sensitive to heat and typically do best in lower temps.
๐ Signs of over heating are: Excessive panting, bright red gums or tongue, vomiting, lethargy or weakness, excessive drooling, etc.
๐ Provide your pup with shady spots, ventilated cots, gel cooling mats, fans, doggie pools to hang out in for comfortability.. Or take em for a swim somewhere!
๐ Provide cold treats if desired! Things like watermelon slices, frozen plain greek yogurt, ice cubes, doggie ice-creams, frozen kongs, etc.
