How disturbing!😢😡
🚨ANIMAL CRUELTY CASE HAPPENING NOW - we need your help ASAP
In partnership with Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, our team seized 9 dogs living in deplorable conditions 💔
One dog was sealed in a metal crate with metal welded clamps. They had to use bolt cutters to rescue her. There was no other way to open it ☹️
Let that sink in...there was NO WAY to get her in/out of that crate daily. So no potty breaks, no room to stretch her legs, no fresh air - nothing.
She was sealed in that crate like a tomb 💔
All of the dogs require intensive medical care to save them. Underweight, terrible skin concerns, oozing wounds - and that's just from visual exams. Who knows what other problems diagnostic tests will reveal 😭
And while we will work to mend their neglected bodies, we also have to heal their hearts 🥺
They had given up - sealed in tiny enclosures, not getting medical help, doomed to a horrific life.
And that horror ends today.
KCHA is going to offer them gentle hands, soft touches, warm blankets, and the care they need to recover. A consistent routine to help them grow confidence. And the patience to help them learn love, maybe for the first time 🥹
The journey to earn their trust is one that takes time, but we will be there for them ❤️
They're never going to know hunger or neglect again. And we are able to make it happen with your help and support.
❗️Naturally, I asked our team what's needed to help support these dogs:
1️⃣ Donations to support our operations is always helpful - we rely on donations for ~85% of our funding. So a donation helps us keep our team of kind, talented workers.
2️⃣ Chewy gift cards are also wonderfully helpful. We can purchase prescription meds from their pharmacy w/ fast shipping. We can order specialty food there, too!
3️⃣ Supply donations needed for them:
- dog enrichment (toys, treats, puzzles, frisbees, calming scents)
- Blankets, towels, linens of any kind - used are great!
- Wet dog food, any brand
Anything helps, and we'll be so grateful for it.
Welcome to the KCHA family, our 9 little friends. You're safe now ❤️🩹
