Today we're officially launching our campaign to help fund the future of the Iowa County Sheriff's Office K9 Program.

After seven years of dedicated service, K9 Sam will retire on December 31, 2026. As Sam enjoys a well-earned retirement, we are preparing the next K9 team to continue protecting Iowa County.

Training and equipping a police K9 are a significant investment, but it is one that saves lives, protects deputies, locates missing people, and keeps illegal drugs out of our communities. This training will take place in October.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 through community donations.

Every dollar—whether it's $5 or $500—brings us one step closer to ensuring Iowa County continues to have a highly trained K9 team serving our citizens.

We've always said Iowa County has one of the most supportive communities anywhere, and we're excited to see what we can accomplish together.
