A happy barrel horse who loves his/her job is my passion. I enjoy running Futurity colts and watching them progress in their training. I do however do tune-ups and fix older horses as well. I sell a few nice prospects and some finished horses every year. Finding the perfect rider for the horse I have for sale is always my goal. I also do represent customer horses and help them with selling theirs and finding them their new homes.

She’s A Sweet Bully. Scarlett decided it was time to take the training wheels off. This little mare has been my 4D work in progress lol. She won the Futurity side pot and was 4th in the 2D in a tough slot race. Even with a big slip behind first barrel this gritty little mare clocked well. Good girl Miss Scarlett.

A lot of truths here..
𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙨.

They know when you’re nervous.
They know when you’re doubting.
They know when you’re thinking “I hope this goes well” instead of knowing it will.

You can’t fake confidence to a 1,200 lb animal.

That hesitation going to the first?
They feel it.

That split second where you pull instead of ride?
They feel it.

That moment you stop riding with intention and start riding not to mess up?
They feel it.

And then people say
“my horse just wasn’t on today.”

No.
Your horse was reacting to YOU.

Because here’s what people don’t want to hear…

Your horse doesn’t get to choose confidence.
They borrow it from you.

So if you go in unsure
they go in timid.

If you go in hesitant
they get tight.

If you go in hoping
you’re already behind.

This isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about being prepared.

Confidence doesn’t come from wishing for a good run…
it comes from putting in the work so many times that muscle memory takes over.

Your horse doesn’t need you to be lucky.
They need you to be certain.

Because at the end of the day

That time when your horse isn’t quite right, but you don’t know why…
The small trainer notices.

Who’s going to spend two hours with your two year-old every day to make sure they get a solid foundation?
The small trainer.

What about the horse who doesn’t have the strongest maternal lines?
It’s the small trainer that gives them a chance.

You’ve never done it before, but wanna give it a try?
The small trainer won’t judge you.

Who’s going to take an extra 30 minutes to make sure that turn is in a perfect place to end on?
The small trainer.

Who’s going to walk through the barn at 10 o’clock at night and lay eyes on your pride and joy themselves?
The small trainer.

Who’s going to do their very best to make your dreams affordable?
The small trainer.

Who will keep your horse liking their job?
The small trainer.

Who will try every trick in the book to pull every ounce of talent out of your horse?
The small trainer.

Don’t underestimate the small trainer.
