So you want to be at one with the horse? You think putting on 200 breeches and showing up for your lesson horse already tacked up and kicking the horse to go and grinding the horse forward with your bottom is like the most amazing thing? If you want to really have great communication with a horse....you have too....spend time with the horse. Learn how the horse is made, how it moves, what it's body needs to function.
Do you know the horses schedule? Are they being taken care of properly? Horses should be out at least 8 hours a day, more if they can. They should have hay 24/7 or fed at least a few flakes every 4 hours or so. Horses produce a lot of stomach acid and if they aren't constantly eating and moving that's how ulcers happen. Horses are supposed to be out with other horses....
You want to be one with a horse, learn how they should be taken care of properly. Learn proper wound care, how they should be fed, how they should be groomed. Learn the tack. Get a trainer, take lessons. Horses are extremely expensive! Make sure your finances are in order so they can be taken care of if you decide to own.
They are such complex creatures yet so simple at the same time. Everyone has different ways to care for them. In horses always try to do your best or very close. I do not advise half assing it when it comes to horses either you or the horse will suffer at some point.
Be patient and be kind because we ask so much of them.
