The PreVet Society Texas A&M University Group also came out last Sunday for a handling clinic. 18 students came to talk about wolves and wolfdogs. They also visited with Tala and Storm. Tala has to have visitors when students visit or she talks and begs until they enter her enclosure! Storm is a live wire and loves everyone!

The Construction Science Group from Texas A&M University came out on Sunday to start the build! 4 groups of students each picked one enclosure to build a new doghouse for! These students are not doing this for extra credit. They are all doing this on a volunteer basis. They brought their own food and drinks and paid for the materials we did not have. We had some wood and pallets. The University will hopefully be reimbursing them. We also want to give Woodson Lumber from Bryan, Texas a huge thank you! They donated 30 2 x 4's for this event!

For wolf awareness week, I want to share a poem that I created years ago concerning aerial hunting. Wolf puppies that far north are born in May or early June when snow can still be on the ground. There has been controversy because aerial hunting can overlap into puppy season. I will never understand the mentality of hunters who hate a part of creation so bad they want to wipe it off of the face of the earth. Humans are the worst kind of killer because humans do not just kill to survive.

This is not a cute or pretty poem and it will not make a difference to those who hate wolves, but we have to keep taking a stand for wolves and all wildlife.

Yep. The season is changing. Their behavior is changing. They will be three April 26th. They are maturing. Before next fall, I will have to have a new enclosure ready for Gideon. My hope is that he will pair with Veezy, but that will have to be a thorough and well thought out introduction.

Cochise is a very confident wolfdog. He will be three at the end of April. We are planning on where to build another enclosure for Gideon because they will most likely have to be separated.
