This year has been one we won’t soon forget.
Lake Ann Farm experienced more devastation and change than we ever could have imagined. Losing the barn was heartbreaking, and for a while it felt like so much of this year was centered around what had been lost.
But life kept moving forward.
The remains of the barn have been cleaned up. Justin and I are married. And somewhere through everything that happened, we started looking at this place a little differently and talking about what we truly wanted its future to look like.
We realized it was time for a fresh start.
Lake Ann Farm is becoming JK Ranch.
JK is simply us, Justin and Kendra, and this new name represents the life and future we are building together.
With the new name also comes a new direction for the property. Rather than focusing on parties and events, we want to put our time and energy into what feels much more like us: raising livestock, caring for the land, and building a working ranch that we can continue growing for years to come.
We’re starting with quality hair sheep raised for meat, with a focus on healthy, productive animals and eventually hope to expand into cattle.
There is still plenty we want to build and accomplish here, but it feels good to be looking ahead instead of looking at what was lost.
This place has been through a lot this year.
So have we.
But now we get to decide what comes next.
A new marriage. A new name. A new direction for this little piece of land we call home.
Welcome to JK Ranch.
