🐾 Meet Amanda🐾
Amanda started grooming when she was 16 years old. She was introduced to the grooming profession when she had been training horses for a ranch during her years of competitive barrel racing.
She has always had a deep, abiding connection with animals and the outdoors. It’s a passion that has fueled her dedication, as she has spent the last 25 years in the grooming profession, going on to start her own business.
She has now owned AC Grooming Salon for over 12 years, and the small business has grown steadily with a team of professionals who reflect the same quality of hands-on craftsmanship and compassion that she holds herself to every day she walks in the doors of her shop. She is extremely proud that her shop has made it as a top three finalist in the Best of Spartanburg for 2 years, and top five for the last 5 years.
In her free time, she rarely ever stops going. Over the years, she has nurtured her family’s ancestral homesteading traditions; she is experienced in pressure-canning, has raised rabbits for meat, and goats for milk. She has raised quail, chickens, ducks, turkeys—you name it, she’s probably raised a few of’em. 🐓 🦆 🪿 🐐. She’s also spent several years growing vegetable gardens, tomatoes being her favorite.
She does manage to let herself relax a little bit with her new skills in crocheting (she never really stops…) and has shared many of her creations with her family over the last few years.
Her favorite moments are spent on adventures with her husband, daughter, and their two toy poodles—her favorite dog breed!—Birdie and Gus. Whether it’s mining for gemstones and riding rollercoasters at Dollywood, or camping and fishing at Hunting Island, being able to make good memories together with her family is her idea of the best part of success.
